Depends of what kind of body want. U wanna tone up try light weights with hi reps. Big size low reps with heavy weights. But frankly speaking, most people can't take it if u ask them to go for light =high. Wanna know why? Cause it will go right to the bottom of the muscles that u r working. Try it N you'll know.

less sets with more weight! You are not challenging your body using weights that are too light and you will not see results! Shoot for 6-12 reps of 2-3 sets tops on a heavy weight. It should be getting hard by the 2 or 3rd last rep. If you can pump out 12 without being tired your not doing your body any good!

With heavier weights it truly is a lot less reps, extra instruments, with lighter weights it is extra reps a lot less instruments. as an party with the bicep curls any weight I carry from 40-60 I do about 8-12 reps, 3-4 instruments, the position as when I carry lighter say like 30's. i am going to do 10-15 even 20 reps, 2 instruments max.

At my all women's gym they recommend to lift as much as you can handle to do 8 to 15 reps. If 8 to 12 reps becomes to easy its time to increase the weight. They say to do one set because multiple sets don't really benefit you that much.

When I saw a personal trainer, he said do as much weight as you can, as many times as you can, safely and accuratley. So as much weight as you can lift, while still be able to breath proplerly and not hurt yourself. He said to start out smaller and work up if you arent sure.
