Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians; they teach that Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

The witnesses can give you some more exact answers, though I doubt you really care to hear them, anyway. One thing you should know is that the NWT is not the only Bible that does not promote the idea that Jesus is God.

My favorite from buying an Interlinear Greek Translation of the New Testament at any Bible Book store. At a look at the writings of John and you will note that he spells the word god four different ways in Greek. He never uses the same spelling in reference to God Almighty as he does to anyone else. But, he does use the exact same spelling of god in reference to The Word, Satan, and men who believe themselves to be a god. Is Satan also God? You would think he would make the distinction in the Greek words he uses in showing that Christ and Jehovah are the same.

Another one comes from the old testament and is often used by those trying to promote the trinity. It refers to the Word as Mighty God, but if he was equal to his father, than he would be an Almighty God, not simply a Mighty God, who receives its power and existence from Almighty God.

Beyond that, the fact remains that those you follow the Trinity display the least Christian ideals. They don't teach all their members the whole Bible and just preach at them. They don't teach them to preach and teach, they dabble in politics, lie to agencies like the IRS in order to get their non-profit certificates, allow immorality to flourish in the church, and have made their churches into places of money exchange.

Whatever you may think of the JWs, they are far more Christian than even the Amish. Which is why they are so feared by everyone, self professed Christian or not, as well as all governments. In fact, it is something that self-professed Christians and Atheists have in close common.

For the same reason Jesus didn't believe he was God.

Phil 2:5 Keep this mental attitude in YOU that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.

Where the NWT uses seizure, most modern translations / versions use grasph.

The greek word literally means: to rob, rape or plunder.

So Paul is saying that Jesus did not try to rape, rob or plunder equallity with Jehovah.

The Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus was created as Archangel Michael/lesser god; became only a good man, died, ceased to exist, re-created as Michael again in heaven. They teach that he was not God and deny the Holy Trinity.

Did Jesus not pray to God, Jehovah?

--"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name....Matthew 6:9

--Did Jesus not say to Mary Magdalene who was detaining him?

(John 20:17-18) “. . .Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’” 18 Mary Mag´da·lene came and brought the news to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord!” and that he said these things to her.”
--note he said he was .going...........to my Father ......to my God....."

If you think he did not, with these brief Bible references--
You either believe he was talking to himself or he was some what crazy!

There are thousands of more reasons why we know that Jehovah is God, and that Jesus is the Son of God!
