Well If its spicy and with red meat i would suggest a shiraz or a smooth Merlot (Red Wine) if the dish is sweet with white meat (Chicken or fish) i would say invest in a good Chardonnay Chilled. And because it gets Chardonnay wines normally fermented in wooden Vats it would be a great combination with a sweetish dish........Bon appetit!

Anything that goes with the type of meat in the stew. If you have beef stew, choose a good red wine. And, splash some in the stew while cooking it as well!

It depends on the type of meat and the colour of the sauce. Red wine with a dark sauce, white with a lighter sauce, perhaps with chicken or fish.
I also like a bottle of beer with a beef stew. Good winter comfort food.

You can't beat a pint of Guinness like the Irish do it! 'Irish stew' after all! If Guinness is not your thing then a pint of real ale!! No need to ponce around with wine! Good beer is a great accompaniment to food! Stay clear of larger though if you don't want to get too bloated!!!

Guinness--But I'm talking about a really chunky stew with heavy gravy, not the soupy stews some restaurants and others serve now-a-days.

A nice, rich burgundy wine, or a merlot. For non-alcoholic, I'd have to go with the sweet tea!
