Short answer: YES, whey protein is a good idea. More protein in your diet will help you lose weight because protein takes more energy to digest, but of course too much of anything is bad for you. If you want to lose weight you should get at least 180g of protein into your diet every day (205g, or 1g of protein per pound of body weight, would be better) and your caloric intake should probably be around 2,000 to 2,200 calories per day. Be sure to get good sources of healthy fat into your diet too. Best sources are: avocadoes, eggs, fish, fish oil, flax seed, flax seed oil, nuts (any kind, but almonds are best) and olive oil. Good luck!

Read the book the Abs Diet, by David Zinckzenco. (He's the editor of Men's Health) He spends quite a bit of time talking about the benefits of whey protein for building muscle while losing fat, particularly in the stomach area.

I have heard that whey protein is one of the most easily digestible proteins,so it is probably a good one to use.Sounds like you are on the right track.

it shouldn't, protein is what you need to build muscle, advice for you, don't use any products not tested by the FDA like GNC product, whey protein is ok tho, if you take a GNC type weight loss product, you will ONLY lose water weight which will come back ifyou stop taking that product. GNC products are made to be taking all your life, STAY AWAY FROM GNC PRODUCTS!

it's hard to do. my understanding is that you have to train the muscle to failure so that the instinctive mind knows that it has to preserve muscle because great demands are being placed on it but you also have to lose slow enough so that the body doesn't think it is starving and wants to preserve fat too. about 1lb of fat loss per week. the zig zag diet is also suppose to be the preferred way to preserve muscle. where you alternate overeating and undereating. isn't milk high carb? of course it might not be if it fits in to your carb. limit per day. i plan on training to failure and doing a zig zag diet but not a ketonic diet which might be better than my plan. good luck.

Ya know, It depends on if this is the only protein source you are getting or not. Humans really don't need as much protein as we believe. So it depends on how much you are using.
