Last night I was in class just listening to the lecture, feeling fine and out of nowhere I had intense pressure on my chest and throat. I could't speak at all, and the only way I can describe the feeling in my throat was If I had swallowed a HUGE piece of steak and it was having trouble going down, but I could breathe fine. I had to get up and leave in the middle of the class and when I got into my car and tears just streamed from my eyes.I went home and took some asprin and fell asleep. Today there is a little pressure but not nearly as painful as yesterday . this was so odd and really embarassing... should I see a doctor?

The sensation of "swallowing a huge steak" makes me think it is a trouble of the oesophagus...go on and see a doctor.

Depending on how old you are I would say you had a mild heart attack, but you should go to the doctor and get it checked. Believe me, it is nothing to mes around with. By taking the aspirin you may have reduced the symptoms, but it could reoccur. It may not have been a heart attack, but why take the chance?

yes you must. it could only be a viral infection. anyway professional advice also helps. you can try out some home remedies too. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. you can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Go see a doc immediately and urgently.
Maybe an Aspirin helped temporarily. Take another maybe. But do go.
Best wishes.

Sure should, you could have a floating blood clot. Be careful, because the body shows us with pain, when we have an internal problem. There is a reason for everything, please do not ignore your build in alarm.

could be cardiac. chest pain is often assoiciated with heart attack. aspirin may have helped with the clot, you should definately see a doc, too many serious possibilities.

Yes. Probably just "globus hystericus," but better to screen for more serious problems.

Your school probably has a health clinic. See if they can help you.
