I'm looking for something hard that will get you smashed quick. What's the best to buy?

A high-alcohol wine.
Because hard liquor is taxed at a higher rate than beer and wine, you can get more bang for your buck with what is called fortified wine.

Look for Thunderbird, MD 20/20, Night Train, Gibson's muscatel. These types are often sold in the cold case near the beer and malt liquor or down on the bottom shelf in the back corner of a wine selection. Check the label for alcohol content. Anything over 15% should get the job done quickly.
You didn't say anything about tasting good, right?

Everclear--it's pure alcohol. Never figured out why anyone would just drink to get smashed quick, though. I like a slow buildup to a buzz and some good distaff companionship.

Cooking essence. Since it's not for "drinking", it is taxed different (at least where I live).

Mind you, it WILL NOT BE GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH.

Why not have a few friendly beers, then share a bottle of wine with friends, and you won't see the need to get smashed.

if all you are looking to do is get smashed cheaply i guess flavor doesn't matter to you. try a fortified wine, like mad dog 20/20. if you want to spend a little more try something like jagermeister.

Many brands of Sherry, while taste like crap, are very effective. Ask any um 'regular user'. Better than listorine! lol
