Jesus had to perform miracles to prove he was who he said he was. What proof did Paul have to show that he had authority from God? Why was it so much less than what Jesus himself had to show? What was the purpose of Paul? Wasn't Jesus so inadequate that he need Paul?

Jesus is God...Paul was just a man....I have to admit, I've never heard that twist before....It wouldn't have matter if Paul parted the sea, you still would put a twist to it.

I am not sure what he did but I imagine it is the same thing all priests of all religions do to show they have the authority to speak for God. They preach about what the bible (or whichever book they claim is the book of god) says. They say give the church money but God doesn't need money priests do so they can gain power and power is what all men want in one form or another. The problem is interpretation. Paul probably just claimed it and people being the gullible things they are believed him. It is basically the same with all religions everywhere. You claim Jesus performed miracles but you don't KNOW he did. you have faith he did. But if a common magician from today went back to that time and performed a trick people would claim it a miracle. People claim that images of Mary showing up in ice or their coffee grounds is a miracle all the time. People WANT to believe because it is easier for them then to admit we are animals ....there is no responsibility in our actions as long as we can blame a higher power.

1) Paul was not self-appointed - he was appointed by Jesus on the road to Damascus.
2) Paul's total change in his life shows testament to the power of God working through him. His authority from God was 'proven' through many miracles.
3) Paul's purpose was to become an Apostle of God and spread the Gospel to the four corners of the Earth - his purpose was to share the Word of God - which he did in his actions, words, deeds and by penning quite a few of the Epistles.
4) Jesus is not inadequate to any task. He chooses to use men, including Paul, to spread the Word of God - it is a blessing to those whom He chooses.

Actually, Paul wasn't "self appointed". Remeber the Damascus road? Saul as Paul was known then, was on his way to slaughter Christians in the name of the Roman Empire. He was struck blind by God and asked, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" after which God directed him to Anannias' house to receive instruction on how to regain his sight. When Saul believed in what Annanias was teaching himm about the ways of God and that God had a purpose for him, he received his sight and new directives from God, calling him into a new ministry and giving him the authority necessary therein.

With mankind's better information, the theory of a God has replaced interior the previous 2000 years, that is going to. We no longer trust that lightening and thunder takes position because a guy dwelling in a cloud is indignant. The bible under no circumstances discusses how a lot formal education Paul had. lower back in biblical days, in common words the rich might want to locate the money for to flow to college. Paul wasn't truly one of them. historic past shows that ninety 9% of biblical human beings were illiterate and it truly is the position our cutting-area God idea got here from.

Jesus had to do nothing to claim he was who he said he was.
he did do them, and they did indeed show who he was, but he did not have too.
Paul also did miracles. JEsus met pau on the road to damascus, and there where witnesses who saw the bright light.
Christ told the person in damscus he had called paul to him
The other apostles accepted pauls testimony, even tho he had previously been seeking their deaths and improson ments.
thats why your whole Q. is wrong. PAul was not a self appointed apostle. He was appointed by Christ.

God changed his name from saul to paul. Saul was on his way to do harm to the apostles and often spoke out against Christ.
Christ met him along the way and he was converted in his heart.

Not sure, but in the movie Nero he saved some girl.
I'd say he was honest and wanted to share Jesus's message. Considering he got arrested multiple times for his beliefs, I'd say he did his part.
