So many questions on here about nudity and its offensiveness. Most are united is saying nudity is not offensive.

If this is true why is it that when someone has to change or be nude breifly in the presence of another adult they cover thier eyes or turn around. I understand if the person wants privicy or ask them to turn around but aren't we to the point where we can see another adult naked without thinking it is wrong or bad or evil or unnatural or sexual.

If you were with a person (either of same or oppisite sex) that had to change or get naked for some reason and didn't ask you to leave or turn around and seemed at ease with being undressed in front of you, would you cover your eyes or turn round on your own?

Nope, neither... why? Between the beaches we go to (friends and family) and the hot tub out back, we've already seen each other all the time - no biggie for us. Society sure does put some strange hang ups in peoples minds though!

I think it's up to the person changing. If I'm changing and my gal friends are around, I'll ask if it's okay if I change in front of them. I have a guy friend I've known for years, and I wouldn't change in front of him, because its something we've never done. Most of my friends and I have changed together before.

I've been in this situation, I just kinda avert my eyes to their face alone, but I continue talking to them normally. Unless it's the opposite sex, and in that case, I would probably leave the room and resume the conversation later, informing them that I would be more comfortable if they would save that for when I WASN'T around. (My hubby wouldn't appreciate me seeing it anyhow!)

But we don't make a big deal out of it at home, and our daughter seems fine with it.

Depending on who it was, I would probably turn around just out of habit. If it was my sister or mother or friend or someone really close, I probably wouldn't bother shielding myself but with someone I don't know as well, I'd probably turn around and say let me know when you're done. I don't think it's bad or evil or unnatural or sexual. It just seems like common courtesy to turn around and I guess that's just how I was raised. :)

nudity doesn't bother me so it would depend on the person & situation. but i guess, when you think about it, if a person starts getting undressed in front of you, you have to figure that they don't give a darn if you look.

Although I find it pretty natural, I was taught to turn around. And I do it.
I guess it depends on the occasion, but with some people it seems kind of naïve it doesn't matter.

I wouldn't do either. I'd just sit there and talk to them like it's no big deal.

Why? Because, IT'S NO BIG DEAL!

Obviously, if they start changing in front of you, they don't care. You shouldn't either.

Nudity doesn't bother me in the slightest....so what, they aren't wearing clothes--nothing about them has changed...just their 'coverings' If it bugged them, they would have asked you to do something, right? Obivously they don't care if you see them nekkid!
