Congrats on the new litter!! I have had litters of 6, 7, and 8. With the litter of 8, only 6 survived. I know someone whose dog was carrying 10 pups, but she had them too early because of the heavy load and lost all of them.

No...but I'll bet they are VERy CUTE and SOOO tiny!
Bigger breeds like Rotweilers are famous for 6 or more pups per litter but Chihuahuas 3-4 is BIG...the purer the Chihuahua...the more small. Notoriously difficult to get "pure" Chihuahuas.

my sister-in-laws dog just did about a month ago. I know it's hard to believe that such a small dog can have that many pups. I don't know if it's normal or not. as long as they are all healthy WHO cares right? her dog's first litter had 2 pups then she had 3 then it jumped to 6. there was like three sets of twins. It's weird.

It is extremely hard on such a small dog to whelp at all. Please have your dog spayed.
