I gave birth 5 months ago, and had to work (im currently 25 lbs over my target weight and NO LONGER breastfeeding), I work as a field tech, had enough of quicklunches, and fast foods & coffee. I cant bring food from home that need to be warmed up.

What could be a sensible lunch, without breaking the bank ..thanks

I struggle with lunch as well. Somethings I've brought along...
Bean salads are nice and hearty...canned chickpeas/garbanzo beans with a bit of onion, oil, garlic is nice and simple.
If you can stand eating rice cold... some types of risotto would be good.
Whole wheat pasta salads.
Leaf lettuce (red or green...avoid Boston lettuce it isn't as nutritious)salads of course... add nuts and seeds of your choice...add olives, celery...whatever and carry a small container with dressing.
Cereals with a little container of milk.
Veggies and dip.
Wraps or pita pockets... use hummus and sprouts, tomato on the side to add later.
Can make wraps using lettuce leaves with a nice filling.
Choose multi-grain products.
Bagels with a homemade spread.
Sometimes I'll drag along a meal replacement shake in case I feel I don't have enough vitamins.

Hope this will get you started... cold meals aren't very pleasant all the time... Maybe a thermos of soup or chili may suit you?

Good luck! (I feel for you)

You can prepare a TON of things that do not need to be heated up. Especially with all of the great plastic storage containers out there now in all sizes. You can make a salad, a wrap (sandwich), yogurt, cottage cheese and fruit, tuna salad with carrots and celery, chicken pasta salads, chicken salad with pita chips, fruit salad, etc., Think "ahead", plan "ahead" save some time at night to make your lunch for the next day. Go on line and search for easy lunch recipes through the food network. Once you start making healthier choices than burgers and fries, you'll lose the weight, and it's very easy to do. When you make sure your calorie intake is changed, or healthier eating, portion control, etc., you'll find you will lose the weight. You also need to find time to exercise. Even if you have to get up earlier in the morning and do a 20 minute speed walk, with stretching, it will help speed up the process. Give yourself time, change your eating habits and get moving! Good luck

Fruit and nuts. They are great source of energy and filling as well. Plus you do not need to heat them. Also peanut butter on wheat toast is another great easy, fueling food.
I work in the field a lot as well and these are some of the things that I bring with me.
Good luck.
