F.y.i. I live in Southeast Asia. We used to have good English decades ago (we were once a British colony). Today, even the national debate teams have trouble defining simple terms!

Because we have brought up the next generation to short-cut everything. Texting, IM'ing, etc have given way to short-cutting our English and grammer skills. They do not even bother teaching handwriting or much spelling anymore because kids have their "own way" of tlkg 2 eech uther and lol and IDK the rest of the answer.

The reason for that is simple. It is no longer taught in schools, where "creative writing" has taken over, people more and more are using "texting" (which is not even a word). One thing that really annoys me and my English teacher was always very firm about this, was the use of "A" and "thee". He used to say that "A" is a letter and the correct word was "a" and that we could use "thee" in church if we wanted to but the correct word was "the". Sorry, "pet peeve".

America is becoming lazy. Period. We are shortening everything because we are (cuz we r) in too much of a hurry, and do not want to take the time to spell everything out. I'm sorry, I "Text" many people and I almost never use the shortened, lazy versions of the English language. That's my pet peeve.

Good English? I haven't heard anyone speak English in a long time. I think everyone has a different slang that they use and we accept it because they are a certain race or are from a certain part of the country.

I know I hate that. I teach in an inner city district and you should hear the way some of the TEACHERS speak....I mean they say "We be going to the store tomorrow." I want to correct them and say "we are going to the store tomorrow." (These are white teachers, not that I am racist I teach in Detroit, but I know some African-American people have that way of speaking and it is accepted).

Because America is letting all these monkeys and qickie mart people in who bring there own slang to are world send everyone who don't belong here back to there country. then we would have more jobs less crimes and are tax's would go down cause there wont be anymore abuse on the welfare system. For example lets sit on our front prochs and drinking 40's eattin ribs with no job and have nice rides with rims ,systems take your drug pushing azz back .
