The security will scare you more than the flight. I've flown for over 30 years, and it's not a big deal. The seats are cramped, they barely give you food anymore, and when they do you have to pay for it. Try to get a window seat so you can get a good view of the landscape. Take deep breaths for taking off and landings. Otherwise sit back, listen to music, and try to sleep if you're anxious. Flying is a breeze. You're not exactly in the lap of luxury unless you're in first class, but it's just a few hours of waiting for the plane to land.
Good luck hon!

I really love flying. In fact, I have built and flown two planes and fly as often as I can. The big planes are boring except for the take-off and landing but you can watch some good films on a long haul. Don't worry about flying as it is still the safest form of travel so ....go for it !!!!

Hehe, I was pretty young when I was first on one (6th grade and I'm 25 now) but my dad waited until he was around 45 before HE ever got on one. He and my mom came out to visit me for my Basic Training Graduation. You'd think he'd actually want to talk to me about what all I went through.....OH NO! He talked constantly about how awesome riding the plane was! *giggle* It was actually kinda funny, in that he sounded just like a little kid and was like, "I'm sitting there and then we started going, and then WOOOOOOSH! the plane took off into the air, and I was against my seat, and......" (and he went on and on and on)
It's fun, bring some chewing gum to relieve the air pressure on your ears, and have fun!

1st time plane ride can be sacry and fun. You'll be more anxious than scared. Just try to relax. Remember plane travel is safer than car travel. To me it was fun. You'll be fine.
