Clearly, you have taken your argument to its most absurd conclusion to make a good point. However, the whole point of religious dogma is NOT to encourage the "faithful" to accept or believe everything...rather it is to dramatically limit what they accept or believe. Despite the best evidence at the time, Christians historically rejected the assertion that the earth orbits the sun. It is a fact of nature, but they rejected it. Now, despite the crushing weight of evidence that proves natural selection is not just a historical fact, but also a phenomena occurring in our world today as species respond to changes in their environment: Christians still reject evolution as the fact that it so clearly is.
Since Christian dogma doesn't appear to take a position for or against the figments of cryptozoology, it appears to be up to the individual whether they accept chupacabra( or other creatures you mentioned) or not. However, if you became a Christian, you might be surprised by just how much your scope of acceptable knowledge and understanding was limited by your faith. On the other hand, if you accepted every claim that had as much supporting evidence as the Bible, you would probably still believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy.

I' d have to agree. I was raised christian but to me, many things in the bible seem more fictional than ghosts. I mean, if there are angels, can't there be ghosts? if you where to become a christian you would probly not even have to beleive in everything because, come on, noahas ark? lets get real here. If you did beleive in everything that had as much factual content and scientific support as the bible, than you would beleive in a whole lot of crap. In general i am christian, but many things in teh bible i don't agree with. So does that mean you can not call me a true christian? I beleive in christ though, so exactly what am i? the whole thing can be very confusing.

Good Christians as you put it can believe whatever they chose to believe as long as it is not contrary to God's word. To my knowledge there is no mention in the Bible of the things of which you speak.
Re question 2: Every Christian develops their own specific beliefs depending on how they interpret the word of God. Although churches may teach something in one way, a good Christian will always turn to God's word to verify the teaching. The more you read and study, the closer to the truth you will get. Organized religions are based on a specific interpretation of God's word. They all can't be all right and they all can't be all wrong so to depend on what a specific church teaches is folly in my opinion. Read, study and pray. God will show you the truth.
Re: question 3:Factual content has little or nothing to do with faith. The word faith itself means: To believe in something unseen. As far as scientific proof about anything is concerned, please look back a few hundred years and see how different our scientific conclusions of today are from those of that day. I can assure you, should this world still be active five hundred years from now, the science of that day will be totally different from the science of today. The conclusions made by science is based only on current knowledge. Many scientists today who once believed in evolution are now saying that the evoluntionary theory doesn't stand up to today's knowledge test. Many believe that our world shows signs of what they call "intelligent design". They are not going so far as to say "God Created It All" but things are not quite as convincing as they used to be. I heard 2 yrs in the past an 8yr previous boy spoke of a unicorn, again previous the schoolyard. And raced to the instructor freaked out. It recognised for 5 secs stood 50ft away and did not look at him. wonderful, because the boy defined a white horse with a lions tail and gold multicolour horn. The boy not in any respect considered a horse with a tail like that, and it change into strange. I went to the college, no animals out again.

Yeah, and you can add space aliens making human abductions, big foot, astrology, tarot reading, crystal balls...not to mention all the other "gods" throughout history like Thor, Ra, Odin, Baal, etc. There is as much proof that all of those things are real as there is that the myths of christianity are real -- so if you believe in things for which there is no evidence of any kind, how do you decide *which* things for which there is no evidence you're going to believe in?
Ah, right, you believe in the ones that your parents taught you to believe in. Makes things much simpler. Since your parents didn't know about all those other mythical gods, they just taught you about one, so that's the only one you believe in.
All christians are atheists when it comes to those other gods...I just go one god further :)

There's no reason why you can't. If you become a Christian, the important thing is that you believe that Jesus Christ died for you and rose again. I'm pretty sure believing in ghosts and stuff isn't gonna cancel that out. (Besides, I'm a Christian and I believe in that stuff :) ).
