There are king/cal.king sets out there, but whats the difference between those and the ones that say king only?

King is "square" 6' x 6' roughly
Cal King is rectangular shape, longer than a King, but narrower in width.

We've tried before -- King-size doesn't fit our Cal-King.
Cal-Kings aren't that hard to find, you just have to do some looking around.

We've found them at Bed Bath & Beyond (cheap,too), sometimes at Big-Lots/PicNSave, all the major department stores should carry a few of them instock.

In the US, King size bed = 76 in × 80 in and a California king = 72 in × 84 in. California is slightly longer but less wide.

The cal. king are longer than a regular king.

Cal kings are longer beds and king bed sheets will be too short.

Only bedding specifically made for a California king will fit the mattress tightly. The top sheet won't matter, of course, but the bedspread of a regular kind could be uneven in terms of how far it hangs down.

Cali King sleeps 12 Mexicans while king sleeps eight.

no, california kings are a little bigger..... and nice.
