I think there are some people who realize they are predisposed to sexual urges they are ashamed of (whatever that might be). So they figure they will become priests and that way they won't be able to indulge any of it. Then they get into the priesthood and they do it anyway. What do you think?

Not only is that true, but it is also true that families have been known to force their gay sons into the priesthood to hide it.

Priest are called by God. There is a strick guideline to weed out non callings. With respect to the scandals. Young boys know about this calling from God and so does the devil. The devil begins his work in trying to subvert his calling and he is molested. Know non of this is discussed and the boy grows up and becomes a priest. If the priest is weak and is not strong in his faith he will succumb to the defiling sin which is in him put there at an early age. The devil also has a plan which is to strike at the very heart of the church, strike the Shepperd, scatter the sheep. Any understanding short of this just does not understand the warfare that is going on in the spiritual realm.

As a person who was born catholic and studied catholicism in detail... this is a very valid hypothesis. There are various aspects of the priesthood that are attractive to guys who are gay, and then some do join to subdue that which their internalized homophobia tells them they should do (via the Catholic Church's teaching) which is subdue it by celibacy. All supressing a natural sexual urge, psychologically speaking, does is force the homophobia and natural sexual urge deeper until the person eventually becomes obsessed with it. This has also been proven in women who believed they should obey the Church in using the rhythm method of birth control. This whole supression thing is the "abomination".

People that get into the priesthood for this reason are not men of God but slaves of their own sexuality. Being celibate should have nothing to do with being a priest. Being a priest is something you want to do because you Love God and Jesus

As Agnosticism is the own philosophy of Thomas Huxley and also you do not trust him - why are you using the be conscious Agnostic in this context? Are you attempting to be misleading, or are you merely ignorant? Catholics are fairly Agnostic - in what way? Do you brush aside the Gods printed with assistance from guy, like Jesus? If someone ask you - does existence have objective - do you're saying certain, or do you declare lack of information like I do? you be conscious i'm an Agnostic, you're a Theist - I see absolutely the actuality claimed with assistance from the Catholic Church as evil. did you already know that the be conscious Agnostic interprets to - Anti-understand-it-all? Dare to make sure who Huxley suggested the understand-it-alls were? In 1600 the Catholic Church burned Giordano Bruno on the stake a martyr of technological information. on the four-hundredth anniversary of Bruno's lack of existence, in 2000, Cardinal Angelo Sodano declared Bruno's lack of existence to be a "unhappy episode" yet, even with his remorseful about, he defended Bruno's prosecutors, conserving that the Inquisitors "had the favor to serve freedom and promote the straightforward good" between the inquisitors change into none except that tremendous Vicar of Christ, Pope Paul V who ex-communicated the finished authorities of Venice for refusing to launch 2 priest convicted of homicide. seems to me that now as then, that your Catholic Church change into condemning good adult adult males, and putting loose the accountable.

You are more right than you will ever know.

However, please make sure you understand that this has nothing to do with the fact that there are ministers of ALL faiths who engage in immoral sexual practices, it's not a Catholic-only problem (in fact, the ratio of molesters to total ministorial population increases the more fundamentalist the denomination... Roman Catholicism is at the LOW end of it ... but the media likes the RCC... likes them because they are a good ratings scandal).

I don't believe that. Priests are interested in theology as it is an interesting field of study. It's catholic priests that are not allowed to make families., but most other schisms of christianity have no such laws for their clergy.

that's always plausible, but everyone has their own reasons, so it's best not to make assumptions. i partially agree because what you wrote was obviously very thought out.

Sounds good to me. Or else why would any sane person want to go through their lives never having sex. That is insanity at it's best.
