I've been thinking about getting Lumineers for a little while now. I have extremely sensitive teeth and very little enamel left on my teeth. I read the info on Lumineers and realize they are placed differently than traditional veneers and I think they may be just the right thing for me.

Know anybody who has them? Are they worth the money, and was it really only two visits? Are they what they're cracked up to be???

It is not clear as to what is the condition of your teeth from the other side/inside. If the inside also has erosion, then lumineers or other traditional porcelain veneers are not the right answer. You need to fully cover your teeth - front and back. The right answer to address your teeth would be crowns. This will also give you an equally good esthetic result besides much needed protection. You would do well to first consult a specialist - Endodontist.

This question is exactly why I logged in today! I was wondering the same thing. The only thing I can add is that they cover your teeth rather than having to file down your real teeth like traditional veneers.

I am also wondering about the cost.

I have them. They are beautiful. Although my 2 front teeth were broken off like half way when I was little, so I had bonding on them. So they just took of the bonding and I got them. They definitely helped with my sensitivity too. They cover the teeth so you cant feel the cold/hot pain.
They are really expensive though. More than regular veneers.

it can be done in 2 or 3 sittings and i will tell u that these lumineers will be the best for people who have smaller teeth with gaps between them. in such cases size of the teeth can also be increased and gaps can be closed by using lumineers.. and placing lumineers a dentist should have artistic hand and people who have learnt cosmetic dentistry are the best to do such treatment..and as u have sensitive teeth u can go for lumineers but as i said go to cosmetic dentist for that

I don't have them but know someone who does. First of all, they are VERY expensive. The person I know who has them picked a white, white color that does not look natural. You need to pick a color that is real looking, close to your own teeth color but don't go overboard. I still wonder what happens to your own teeth underneath over a period of time.
