think you have it reversed as most hotdogs come in packages of 10 and bun in packages of 8.

Actually, nowadays they have hot dog weenies that come in packs of 10 just for hot dogs. They also have weenies that come "bun length" to fit the entire hot dog bun. Just FYI.
