I agree with you. We have 2 million people sitting around doing nothing. Give them the proper training and send them to Iraq.

Nice thought but never work. My wife works in a medium security prison and you cannot get those guys to even tuck in their shirts let alone give them a weapon to deal with. There are allot of gangs in prison and I can assure you that is where the 1st fight would break out would be, gangs against each other. Would be more hectic than what we have going on now. Do not forget that most prisoners are in jail because they could not abide by the rules. They are not going to change by putting them in the military. If anything I think it would be much worse!

Usually that doesnt turn out for the better. In ww2 germany used a large number of penal battalions in their forces. These troops were very brutal and commited the most atrocities of the german forces.
Prisoners were generally cruel and unforgiving and thus the population started to hate thier occupiers even more than before.

Just who side are you on the terrorist's? How much damage would a bunch of drug dealing rapist do to the locals and to our own troops. This has got to be the most dumbest idea since the German answer to the Jewish question. where did your parents and teachers go wrong?

Would YOU be willing to have your life depend on a MURDERER, THIEF, DRUG DEALER, SOMEONE WHO ALMOST KILLED SOMEONE ELSE? Would you? I sure wouldn't. They'd only be looking out for them self. Would you be willing to put your trust in someone who might turn on you? Would you put your trust in someone who can't be trusted?
Answer those questions then answer the question YOU answered.
