I take Flonase and it works great for my allergies (we are allergic to the same things, dust, trees, etc. ), and I would like to be able to give him Flonase also. Does anyone know the if the ingredients in Flonase are comparable to Nasonex? I know I should ask his doctor, but I am asking y'all first.

Nasonex and Flonase are both steroidal products. Yes your 3 yr old can use it but you have to check with your md for the dosage. They both work potentially the same and as with the Nasonex, the full potency of the Flonase will not be reached until about a week or so.

Only thing is, my customers and I both experienced,
nosebleeds. When I was on the Flonase (brand name, not geq) I had terrible nosebleeds and eventually got a blood clot that attached itself to my sinus cavity and I couldnt breathe out of my left nostril. I had to get it cotterized (burned out) and removed. But this doesnt happen to everyone, its just a major side effect. Just wanted to let you know.

You can look at the Flonase website. It says that it's approved for children 4 and older, so no, it would not be possible for the doctor to give him a prescription for Flonase. Here's the link to the page:

You should NEVER EVER EVER give someone any medication that was not prescribed for them, ESPECIALLY a child. So please, don't ever give him medication that was not prescribed for him by the doctor.

When he turns 4, maybe the doctor will be able to prescribe the Flonase for him, so you can save money.

I have allergies too, and something that can help is to make sure you dust and vacuum a lot, to keep the dust and other pollen from being in your living space. Check to see if you can get allergen filtration bags for your vacuum cleaner. Sure, they cost a little bit more, but it's lots cheaper than buying a really good vacuum that has HEPA filtration.

Good luck!

No, you need to ask the DOCTOR. No one here can advise you on what to give your 3 year old. Only his pediatrician can.

yes, contacting your immunogolist is the best thing to do, but if you want, go to www.drugdiest.com and do a compatible test on it. When i check it out, there is no drug interactions with the two drugs , but if he takes other meds , you really should contact your doctor, KEEP HIM SAFE! CONTACT the DOCTOR :)
