I am surprised the esthitician who does the facials has not sold you on a cleanser for your skin. You should be using Murad or if that is too expensive than Aveeno for sensitive skin.
I think that having the facials three months before your big day is a good idea. As they say, "they did not build Rome in a day". They want to prep your face.
I had a major facial the day before my wedding. This was forever ago and I still cannot believe that they gave me the facial knowing that I was going to get married the next day. The face will need at least a couple days to adjust back after the facial.

I wouldn't bother with the facials... why pay someone to do something that you could easily do at home?
I have sensitive skin, just like you.... I switched to the Body Shop seaweed range. I use the cleanser and toner every night before I go to bed and the face scrub once a week! Scubbing your face too often will make it more sensitive!
Also I don't wash my face in regular soap or any kind of face wash. I use babywipes. They're really good for sensitive skin and I don't break out even a 1/4 of the amount I used to. Look at it this way, if they are gentle enough to use on a baby's bum then they are gentle enough for your face. I use Tesco scented wipes but they also do unscented and I'm sure that if you dont shop in Tesco that you can get something easily in other leading supermarkets.
Don't bother buying the specially made face wipes. They're over expensive and are exactly the same thing. If anyone suggests that you use the simple range I would not bother. It's useless and did nothing to help my skin. if you dont have a bodyshop locally then you can also order off the website. www.bodyshop.co.uk
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great wedding! :D

Generally you should get a facial every 2-3 months, just because its good for your skin. Sensitive skin as well.
If you're using a scrub now, make sure you're not using it everyday, it may be the reason why you're breaking out. Scrubs can be too harsh and can make the skin worse. Scrubs should only be used 2-3 times a week along side a mask of some sort to help hydrate.
Plus, you also need a gentle cleanser for everyday.
Skin is high maintenance; alot of work needs to be put into it. Make sure also your make-up is for your sensitive skin as well, you moisturize everyday and you put on sunscreen.
If you're not big onto getting the facial part, dont worry. I would however, maybe get one or two before the wedding, just to help make your skin look fresh and clean for your big day.
Congratulations!!

your skin will certainly get in better condition if you have your facials before your wedding! the therapist will know what products and what type of facial will be needed in order to get achieve what you want! obviously we cant work miracles but we can sure help! go for a consultation and ask about every facial from different salons, then choose what you think would suit you best! at first you can get spots after facials as it brings out impurities so if you find this happening alot don't get your facial few days before your big day as you want your blemishes gone by then!
you should keep up your home-care routine though and make sure you are using the right products for your skin! remember to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, apply a soothing mask and wash it off properly, and always wear a moisturizer! and again before bed time! good luck :)

I have never heard of someone getting facials for three months before their wedding, but I don't think it is only for the facial benefits. It is a very relaxing technique, and a lot of brides to be are sooo stressed out about last minute details, that getting a facial cleanses their pores, and their minds.
I would suggest trying it once to see the effects on your skin. Having sensitive facial skin is very hard to handle, and the littlest amount of stress can turn your into a mountainous terrain (I know from experience). Ask the facial expert what she/he suggests. If it doesn't work out for you, keep doing what you are doing, and if you start breaking out, it's time for a massage!
One suggestion, I have very sensitive skin (most "good" cleansers burn my skin, and astringent is completely out of the picture). I use clean and clear facial cleanser with microbeads in them. It's a blue squeeze bottle. I get compliments on my skin all the time. It's worth a shot, and it may not work, but it seems to work for me (I use the facial lotion as well).

facials are good for uneven or acne prone skin. So if you are prone to acne as you say, then a facial couldn't hurt. you can start doing them a month before the big day. You say that you plan on putting on makeup on your special day, so I don't see why you should be running to the spa. The only thing I see is that honey moon night when the makeup has come off, you want to see smooth glowing skin. So a facial wont hurt, plus as a woman it helps to make you feel pampered.

Drinks lots of water eat well and rest. Good skin care routine is all you need. There are so many different type of facial out there not sure what type your friends are doing. I teach skin care for Mary Kay and you can get free samples of Microdemabrassion on my website or look for a consultant near you if you want to sit down with someone. ( our service is free and products are 100% guaranteed) I have VERY sensitive skin and have been using Mary Kay for almost ten years. That's why I started selling it.

facials do help ur skin to revitalize and rejeuvanilize... it also adds glow and boosts the texture of your skin...
i dunno about doing it every month but i do get it done twice a year n my skin does feel great and look good after it... so it would b advicable for u to do atleast once 3 days before the wedding..
n personally i think, it would be better for you to try once far before your wedding due to your skin type...
n the best kind of facial for your skin type would be fruit facial cos is more natural , you could still check with your beautician about it though...
and also Congrats on ur wedding!
