There has never been real scientific proof of ghosts or spirits. Personally I do believe that they could be there, just that there really is no proof. Also, if you do believe in ghosots then that does not contradict life after death but shows that there IS life after death. If spirits are haunting places then maybe it just means that they have not let go of their earthly bonds yet, and have not made the choice to move on. I am a Christian, but I don't believe in heaven and hell in the fire and brimstone sense. I think that God gives us/our spirits free will and that sometimes people get so attached to their physical selves that it takes them time to realize that they have moved on. Also, time is a human thing and not a spiritual one, so if a spirit takes years to realize that he has died and decides to move on, it may be an instant on the other side.

Ghosts do not exist. The dead are dead, unconscious, unable to a part of the living.

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; Psalm 146:4.
Also note that according to Ezekiel 18:4, 20, there is not some immaterial or immortal soul that continues to live.

The demons want humans to believe in ghosts so they frequently imitate dead persons.

The dead will be resurrected, however, so they are not without hope. - Acts 24:15

Good question!!!!! It shows you are a thinking person:

Ecclesiastes 3: 19 -21
Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath [a] ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal [b] goes down into the earth?"

Psalm 146:4

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.

4 For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son—both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

So if the soul and spirit die and go back to the ground what are these ghosts???

44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Genesis 6:1-4

1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with [a] man forever, for he is mortal [b] ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

I can tell you as per the Islamic point of view. We believe that there are other intelligent creations of Allah beside Humans. One of them is Jinns or Jinn-at. They live in the same place where we live, are alive and has a society, religions much like humans but Humans can not see them (much like parallel universe). As per Quran we are made of Earth and they are made of fire. The various acts that are attributed to ghosts may very well be their interference into human society. All spirits shall remain either resting in peace or suffering due to there sins but will not disturb living human beings. The belief in ghosts can be due to lack of belief in God or weakness of mind. I haven't heard of any Ghost stories or Vampires in any Muslim country.

no, i don't believe ghosts contradict life after death- assuming that exists. there are as many opinions on ghosts as there are people with an opinion, but i believe ghosts to be the manifestation of the electrical energy in our bodies. if when the person ceases to live, the electrical energy is absorbed, not discharged, by the envoirnment, the image of that energy will remain. when conditions are right- we see a "ghost".

I am an atheist, but I have not seen ghost. Does a ghost have physical power to move objects? Or does a ghost just appear as an image?

How do u know that these spirits are human spirits.

Ghosts are Demons who fool people. When we humans scream and run away from some ghost we believe to be 'long dead great uncle Jack' they sit back and laught at our stupidity.

If you ask me, ghost proves that there is live after death. It showes that there is such a thing as a spritual world.

But i can asure u that gosts are not restless, peace seaking past humans, they are Demons.

These souls/spirits/ghosts have not come to the understanding and acceptance of their end on this plan. Or they have something to finish here first. But then again are they all ghosts?

science is getting into it and identifies these kind of ghosts, appearences, feelings as products from the brain. These are illusions, they can often be shared so not only one person can see it. It's complex but there is some evidence of brain interaction and mind created entities.

Rather they support the 'life after death' model.

Life is 'you in a car'.

Your next life is 'you in another car'.

A ghost is somebody in the time when switching from one car to another.
