try to figure out if anything has changed during that time obviously. I kind of know how u feel. Although I am a stay at home mom of five, I still find it hard to get out of the house to do anything other than grocery shopping. I am working on my weight as well. i have always had a weight problem so this is probably where we differ. Might I suggest any weekend time that u may have, use it to plan meals ahead. Make some days 'lazy" days. these would be days where you have something like soup and sandwiches, or anything that is quick to eat but also healthy. Cutting out some of the prep time for dinner will really help. It seems so little, but those minutes began to add up. When ur in the grocery store flip through those cooking magazines, family friendly of course. Some of them great ideas on new, quick and healthy meals. If u have to take one day out of ur week and stay up a little later just to plan ur week of meals and shopping list, it will pay off in the long run. It may hurt at first, of course being that u are already running on empty by bed time but, after time u will see the results. In ur case i think that ur weight gain is a result of stress as well as lack of time to dedicate urself to an exercise regimen. I think ur body is holding on to the weight to keep up with ur busy life style. Trying to make an extra meal ahead of time while ur working on the current nites meal may help, This does not mean try to kill urself making a buffet, but little odds and ends of the next days meal to refrigerate will save so much time. When u have accomplished working some time into ur schedule that u can spare, the first thing that u should do is relax, not jump into a fitness frenzy. relaxing and figuring out what areas u want to work on, how to best achieve these goals and write it down. Start to recognize what foods cause certain responses from ur body. Some people get sluggish when they eat too much bread, or some dairy products, or even become irritable when they deny themselves certain things. Some foods cause triggers that we ignore. Just pay attention to ur body. The things that u notice have a bad affect on u may be ur favorites, decrease them don't do away with them altogether. keep a journal of how ur body responds to any changes that u make in ur eating habits. Taking time to breath and stretch is wonderful, especially when it is quiet enough for u to hear yourself. U can use canned foods in each hand, no need for weights. it sounds stupid, and u may not see a difference at first, but if you do enough lifts of the smallest cans, u start to feel the resistance and the burn, that means its working. no need for full sit ups. Put the tips of ur feet under that couch and do some crunches. fast and easy, then do some more while turning ur elbows to each side as u come up. this will work ur whole ab area instead of that middle area alone. lunges and squats, be careful of the knees. if u have steps, even if just a couple, make a fool of ur self and go up and down, works ur legs and is good cardio. The thighs are the biggest muscle in ur body, working on them gets the metabolism going. When u look back at urself and how u were feeling before u started, u will feel like a fool no more. No pain no gain. remember, knowing that u sacrificed and found a few extra minutes of ur "free" time and u found urself again is gonna be good for u and ur family. First thing is about using that first bit of free time to realize that u are a person and not a machine, with a beating heart and that u must care for urself b4 u can really care for someone else. If there is anyone that u feel is able and willing to take ur kids off of ur hands or just be there with u when u need that extra 5 minutes, take advantage. Work on getting to bed a little earlier too Missing sleep is such a big part of this no matter how much u get use to it.When we become our family's servant we go into robot mode and learn to "despise" them,in search for a better word. We have one life, and our first love should be ourselves, this is the way that we can teach our children to love themselves enough, to be able to love others. I would suggest trying a trial membership at a gym, but i think u should work on getting ur schedule in order first. I also understand that not everyone can afford to keep up with a membership. Please don't try those quick fix pills. This is not about the weight gain, it's about what caused it. God Bless and Good Luck

If you aren't eating more than normal, you need to get checked out by your physician. There are some minor medical conditions that can affect your weight. If everything there is fine.... just watch what you are eating. Smaller portions, no pop, lots of water and few snacks. Don't eat late at night. Try walking on your lunch break for a little exercise throughout the day. Good luck.

yeah, get some freegin sleep. It doesn't look like you're getting enough.
Sleep is essential to losing weight.
It's a whole lot easier to resist eating junk food if you're rested than if you're tired and feel crappy.

You need to modify what you're eating and the amounts.
You also need to realize this: if you don't take care of yourself, you might not be there for your family. Take time to exercise, at least 20 min, 3 times a week.
You can do it!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
