My husband and I are thinking about adopting from China. We have kids in the family already though. We would like to discuss this with the children however we would like to know what other parents have come across as to what kids have asked. We would like to be prepared for the simple and hard questions. What have adopted parents already been asked?

i just would like to let you know that china has changed their rules for the types of parents that can adopt. there are many stipulations, so before you inform you children of this you might want to make sure you qualify. you can never be prepared for all the questions a child will ask. all you can do is research and inform yourself as best you can to answer all questions honestly. even if you are uncomfortable by the question an honest answer is always the best one. best of luck to you.

Since we have adopted, children in our family/ friends kids have asked us a few questions that have caught me off guard, such as "why couldn't his (birth) mom keep him?", "did you have to pay for your baby?"
Kids also want to know how perminant the situation is. Mostly though, the kids in our family have been very excited about the newest members of our family, and are very interested in our children's birth cultures.
