He is the so called founder of the Church of Satan. His philosophy is closer to Nihilism than Hedonism (which people attribute to the religion of Satan. Some also say that he created the Satanic Bible to weed out the true Satanists from the posers. Meaning the people that bought locke stock and barrel the concepts put forward in the Satanic Bible could be easily dismissed as weak minded people.
