I was Googling today to see if I could find any accounts of people having plastic surgery to remove their belly button, but all I found were articles about *improving* a belly button, such as making an "outie" into an "innie" and so on. What I want to know is, is it possible to have one's belly button completely removed, so they no longer appear to have one?

That would involve removing the umbilical "stalk" and closing in layers of the abdominal wall,peritoneum,facsia,omentum and skin.That would be if they could bring all that together without a graft to close the abd defect. It would be a lot of surgery for a really dumb reason,and it wouldn't ever appear smooth.

I had a family member that went through cancer and had both breasts removed. The doctors took her belly fat and made new breasts with them. Because of this, she got an automatic tummy tuck and because of which her belly button disappeared. So I am assuming that it is possible. She felt weird without one and had the doctors go back in and "fashion" her a makeshift one.
Most belly buttons are cute! I don't know why anyone would want to remove it!

Yes - then they fix a little patch of velcro to where your belly button was so you can stick on a different fake one each day.

Why on earth would you want to cover your belly button so it appears you don't have one?? Belly button lint gettin' to ya?? Ya..that bites eh??
Short of having a skin graph to cover it...I don't think you can do much.
It's an interesting question though!

i've heard of people who are born without belly buttons. but why would you want to have your belly button reomoved. that would be a little weird. like Kyle XY

No you cant remove it...thats kinda like your life support piece....its very vital so removing it cud cause many problems
