To me it is heaven ( I do not believe that hell is forever, I think that is going to be "done with" )...when we die and then we are going to have a new body..the kind that lasts forever...where the time is not limited and we do not have physical limits either because we are not limited by the laws of physics...

I would describe "after life " ( after we lose our life here )that it is going to be better and something that is hard to be knowing before hand. Like an apple tree seed, it does not look anything like the real tree. You put the seed to the ground, it dies and decomposes and a new life starts and it is beautiful. It has to die before the life starts again. A tree does not look any thing like a seed.

So my final answer is " eternal" is heavenly.

Avatars refer to a concept that is not any different at all from your "real" name as also only concept. This is a spiritual question because, in fact, there is nothing such as a You that exists. The You/Me/I which folks think they are is a linguistic convention for something that exists only in a dualistic consciousness. Importantly and ultimately, there is not a You and Your Life. There is not God except as your dualistic consciousness thinks one up. Knowing this or even just acting as if this were true changes behavior in a positive way. Thinking there is a God usually (not always) results in the worst kind of behavior because of the divisive delusion and ultimate arrogance it is based on. The practice of remembering and reminding one's "self" this is usually called religion in the broadest sense. Kshetra means a field of action and a holy place - sometimes site of a war - which affects consciousness in the way that physics describes reality. The World Trade Center Site in New York is one such Kshetra.

Lets try to explain it this way. If a Sparrow took a Handkerchief and held it in its talons, feet, whatever you want to call them, and flew over the highest Mountain on Earth every 10 Seconds, and the Handkerchief brushed against the Mountain at EVERY pass the Sparrow made over the Mountain. When that Mountain was flat with the ground at the lowest possible place below sea level on Earth, that would ONLY be the START of the FIRST DAY you are IN heaven with Christ.

The problem is it has several meanings all different. I have seen many arguments fail because of confusion and lack of rigor over its meaning.

1. For all time
2. For an infinite amount of time.
3. Timeless ( without time entirely )
4. Without an end to time. ( note this is NOT the same as 2 as it would include the case where time is cyclic)

I try to be explicit which one of these I mean and prefer not to use the word at all unless the context is absolutely clear.

Always and forever.

Eternal moving from this point forward. Is one form of eternal.
In other words you can live eternally and have a starting point.

Another form of eternal is that which only God is. He goes forever in both directions past and future.

Never Ending, Forever

You cannot get much more than forever! Nothing that I've ever seen is truly eternal. There's always a beginning and end for us on this ball of dirt.

Without end.

Then the Devil, who betrayed them, was thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done. The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead in them. They were all judged according to their deeds. And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death-the lake of fire. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelations 20:10-15

No longer will anything be cursed. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there-no need for lamps or sun-for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
Revelations 22:3-5

Immortality with or without God.

i think it means never ending, there is no end to life ,only the body goes, the spirit lives on( for ever) the best way to say eternal. It's not explainable ,it just is and all ways will be
