I taught my children to 'think outside the box' ... and some days I would simply send them 'outside to play' with the 'instructions' to not 'return' until they were 'so dirty I'd have to hose them off on the porch' before I could let them into the house. I did this on some 'sunny days' and some 'rainy' days and even, occasionally, on 'snowy days.' My kids actually did more 'real work' in 'developing' on those 'free days' than they ever did 'doing lessons' ... and they are all grown up and are 'successful' at what they want to do ... because they know that 'loving what I do' is far more important than 'how much money I make' could ever be, and they have learned how to 'think for themselves.'

As a mother myself, I teach my children honesty, love, compassion and respect for others, manners, and self-respect. I believe in our society, this is key to raising a great child. They also need structure and boundries, and should be taught to respect these rules that we as their parents have set fourth.
Our children learn by example from us. By setting a good example for your children, you are setting up a strong foundation.

Morality. It's an old-fashioned concept, but if everyone led a moral life there's be less disease and heartache and longer lasting marriages!
I also encourage my children to treat others as they want to be treated themselves. It's basic training that all children should be aware of!

Self-reliance, dedication and determination, sweat equity, imagination, mathematics, self-evaluation, distrust of others' motives, asset management, pride, proper exercise and nutrition, goal setting and prioritization, their rights and the rights of others....I raise individuals with the ability and tools to accomplish what ever they want in life.

To trust in God w/ all of his heart...and pray to him when he needs him.
To keep his hands to himself...(no hitting).
To be nice and respectful to everyone.
To not under any circumstances talk to strangers or go w/ stranger
Basically to trust in God and live by the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you."
