I have been best friends with this guy for abotu a year now. i just got out of a long relationship so i wanted to take it slow with this guy. Me and this guy decided to go on a date and it turned out like perfectly. We kissed and stuff, but it wasn't weird becuase we have been best friends for so long. I am just really worried to get hurt becuase I have been hurt so many times in the past by guys acting like they are really into me and then only wanting one thing from me in the end.
He tells me that he is crazy about me and that he loves that we have the same values and morals and everytime we kiss he always like strokes my back and my hair and stuff, not trying to like do anything else... I just don't want this to turn out bad becuase I really like him.
I guess what I am really asking is how do I know if he is sincere in what he has been saying to me?

The honest truth is that you don't know for sure. You do know he is a close friend and a best friend. I sincerely do not believe he would want to hurt you after all that you have been through together. Best friends do not hurt their best friends. Even inf the boyfriend girlfriend relationship does not work, the two of you will probably still be friends. You must have similar interests to be best friends. I have liked my best female friend before but we have decided to not pursue anything so that we do not risk our friendship. I think your friend is honorable and he is looking for several things. The fact that he choose you probably means he wants more than a fling. It probably means he wants something more long term. Good luck.

Being as you guys have been friends for a year, he knows mostly everything about you.I think he is a very
nice gentleman and has the respect for you that you need.As far as just kissing that is cool but don't sleep with him until you find the time is right.If this guy cares for you like he says he will wait if not than tell him to hit the road and go back to being just friends.Don't give all your heart to the relationship til you are sure and you won't get hurt.I wish you the best of luck.

Trust me, If he wanted to do something sexual with you he would. He has been very respectful and it seems as though he cares for you by the way he talks to you. I don't think it will turn out bad. I am glad that you keep your guard up because you are protecting your feelings. You can let it down. He seems to be nice. Don't be afraid give him a chance. You went this far as cuddling and kissing, He must be good at that. I am pretty sure he will be a gentleman in other ways. BEst OF LUck.

listen honey , there are no guaranties in relationships people that are married for over 20 years split up ... if you will like this guy and he treats you right than go with the flow and enjoy ... heartaches are part of life and like the old saying what doesn't kill ya will make ya stronger and wiser ... so think of it as a good thing and the good thing might last for who knows how long or maybe a short period but the main thing now is to make the best memories that you can.

you say this guy is your friend first date after. so that's cool just take a moment on the next date and explain that if the dating works out great if it doesn't you really can be friends its not that hard.
if you trusted him to be your friend for a time then you know him well enough to know whats up.
don't put all the bad the other guys did on him he is not them .
give this a chance he might be the husband one day .

you know he is sincere because you KNOW him as a friend. this isnt one of those things that you meet a guy and 3 months later he turns into a jerk. you have known him for a while and you should damn well know that this is not an act.
he is your best friend you can tell him anything. he loves you and you love him. so be happy okay? stop thinking so negatively and just be glad that you have him. if you think something bad will happen then it will.
but seriously, you know him as a person already. i wouldnt worry if i were you.

well i dont think u should let ur doubts get in the way, try to listen to ur heart u know mabye now is not the time but u r hear t will tell u the right thing to do when its time but as u hhave been hurt alot of times dont go trusting this one so much that it could be vey pianful in the end

I don't think there's a way to tell, your going to have to trust him and let things come. Maybe you date for a month, maybe you date for a year, in the end you look back and say that was a great month or year. Or maybe he's the one! Maybe he truly loves you for you! Take a chance!!
