That depends on how complicated it will be, how you will be printing it, and what you already know about desktop publishing.

Quark Xpress and Adobe Indesign are the leading professional tools. They will do anything you want, if you know how, and are accepted by any printer.

MS Publisher and the like will get the job done just fine and are perfect if you plan on printing it at home or just need a simple layout.

Technically you can do it in a word publishing program, but it won't lay out the pages as well and they limit the amount of creative work you can include.

First write the content along with images in a word document and then you can convert it to a PDF with some shareware tools available online.

Microsoft Publisher should allow you to create a magazine. If you wanted something for professional use check Quark Express 7.

I've seen some very nice mags made solely on WORD.

But you have to tell us what kind of magazine you want to do.
