are you going to be driving through ALL of CA? I would at least recommend hitting San Francisco in Northern California. Drive down Highway 1 and spend a little time near Big Sur for some very dramatic coastal scenery. San Diego is beautiful too. If you're into the outdoors - a trip to Yosemite is a MUST and try to hit Lake Tahoe if you can. They are both breathtaking, and have lots of trails, camping, etc.

It depends on how far south you're gonna be. I'm from San Diego and think it's a cool place to visit. Try the beaches in La Jolla or Mission Beach. Or there's Santa Monica or Hollywood. That's more north. If you come to San Diego you could go to Tijauna a lot of tou rist like that, but you now need a passport to travel back and forth. Have fun.
