What if he was exactly the same, except that he let you out of Hell if you repent? What if he was exactly the same, except that Hell lasted 1 year instead of millions. What if he was exactly the same, except that volcanoes never killed people?

Would that god be more loving than the current one?

Actually I can. To quote George Carlin...

"If you don't believe in him he will send you to a place where there is burning and agony and torture and smoldering and smoke...but he loves you!" He has a point. A good parent forgives you if you screw up...this one, if you don't repent by the time you die, you go to hell. Buh bye, mr. I stole from Wal Mart once.

Absolutely not. God sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the ENTIRE world, BEFORE he was on Earth, DURING his time on Earth, and AFTER his time on Earth. A God can't get more loving than that.

As for your other questions, if God let you out of Hell if you repent, then he would be a liar and could not be trusted. He already told us that those who reject Him will spend Eternity in Hell, so he would be a liar if he let people out, and nobody could trust a God who lies to them. I've also just answered your other question about Hell. If it was a year instead of millions, again, God would be a liar. And God doesn't lie.

As for Volcanoes killing people, the only thing I can say about that is that God has a reason for everything. If someone dies from a volcanoe erupting, there was a reason for it. Just because someone dies from a volcanoe eruption doesn't mean God does not or did not love them. His ways are higher than our ways, and for whatever reason, He called those people to be with Him in Heaven, and for those who rejected him their whole life, to spend their eternity in Hell.

Oh there's a lot of different God's who are far more loving and accepting then the Christian one. Look at some of the Pagan ones. You must remember ole' YHVH started off his career as a local tribal volcano God (of the Canaanites) who people made human and animal sacrifices to, he was very bloodthirsty. Later he evolved into a God of war and as adopted by the ancient Hebrews, he still retained his bloodthirsty nature. And then he really got evil when the Christian adopted him and cooked up this whole concept of roasting people on the eternal BBQ pit who didn't worship him. I guess he remains true too his roots!

No. God has His reasons for all that He does.

When Satan and the fallen angels lived in Heaven, they had free will. Satan corrupted those angels.

When God kicked them out, He said never again will this happen and He took free will from the remaining angels.

Why would God allow those in Hell into Heaven knowing that they would end up trying to corrupt it? He wouldn't. He would not compromise our safety in that way. If He did, I would question His love for us.

Cupid, he is the God of Love. Happy Lupercalia, aka Valentines Day.

It's my opinon that the Christian God, if he existed, is not loving at all. He has said he is a jealous God, he's killed millions of people. He advocates slavery, torture, killing women, homosexuals, children, witches, and blasphemers. Anyone who doesn't follow his 10 little rules is damned for eternity. NOT VERY LOVING.

If I tell my son, don't run into the road, and he thought I said never run over a toad, he'll eventually get into BIG trouble. I don't believe there are any, count 'em, NONE, true christians yet. I believe everyone on earth is misinterpreting Christ. Most out of arrogance. I had my own Pavlov's Dog, quite by accident, or so it seemed, that told me the mind LIES to it's owner. I think morality and intelligence are one and the same, and humans think they are both when they are NEITHER.

No, that would not be a JUST God nor a holy one.
You forget that God's ways are Right and Just.
Stop trying to compare God to man. I cannot imagine a more loving and Righteous God and I am so thankful God is WHO He is!

But hell does not torture people for even 1 year, hell does not exist the way people try to explain it.
