Talk to him about taking a Family Leave for a month, or just two weeks since you have a week off, and your mother is going to watch her for one. They have laws that protect you in situations like these. Look into them girl. Good luck with the surgery and the job..

Get to know and love the F.amily and M.edical L.eave. A.ct. You have a lot more than 1 week leave coming.
Check out this FMLA website at - http://www.dol.gov/elaws/fmla.htm
Here are some excerpts.
Q: Which employees are eligible to take FMLA leave?
Employees are eligible to take FMLA leave if they have worked for their employer for at least 12 months, and have worked for at least 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months, and work at a location where at least 50 employees are employed by the employer within 75 miles.
Q: Will I lose my job if I take FMLA leave?
Generally, no. It is unlawful for any employer to interfere with or restrain or deny the exercise of any right provided under this law. Employers cannot use the taking of FMLA leave as a negative factor in employment actions, such as hiring, promotions or disciplinary actions; nor can FMLA leave be counted under "no fault" attendance policies. Under limited circumstances, an employer may deny reinstatement to work - but not the use of FMLA leave - to certain highly-paid, salaried ("key") employees.
Q: Who is considered an immediate "family member" for purposes of taking FMLA leave?
An employee’s spouse, children (son or daughter), and parents are immediate family members for purposes of FMLA. The term "parent" does not include a parent "in-law". The terms son or daughter do not include individuals age 18 or over unless they are "incapable of self-care" because of mental or physical disability that limits one or more of the "major life activities" as those terms are defined in regulations issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

I think you should just look for another job...if your boss doesn't understand that your daughter is the reason you go to work everyday, then he's not worth your time...with the job market the way it is, it shouldn't be hard to find another one...just tell them that you cannot start until after you have stayed home with your daughter for a few eeks

i don't think of you have a case....... whether she have been clinically determined wisely, the pollutants in the venom might nevertheless reason the comparable harm. there is not any anti-venom for brown recluse spiders. The surgical procedures have been performed to diminish away the necrotic tissue, i think. it particularly is customary scientific care. i'm sorry she and you have had plenty difficulty. get removed from the scientific institution and be happy your daughter can walk lower back. The prepare of drugs is an artwork and a technological information... it is not a assure. docs are human and do make blunders now and lower back. in this occasion, the scientific care is "tincture of time" to verify how plenty tissue is going to die and then how plenty should be decrease away.

Sometime we have to think about our families first and jobs second. Your child is your first priority and you can always find a job somewhere else. And Make sure that you check into family leave time. I don't think that they can just allot you 1 week off, depending on how long you have been there. If all else fails file a grievance/complaint . Good luck to you.

i guess you need to decide which is more important to you i know that you work to take care of your daughter but it sounds to me like you need to talk to your boss and tell him that you are seriously needed at home for a month and then you can come back or find a different job after your daughter is better. girl that has got to be really hard on you i feel for you best of luck.

Family is more important. I would take the week off, let your mom watch her for a week, and then call off as much as you can get away with.
Good luck with your daughter.. I have a 10 month old. She is a handfull sometimes.

Apply for family sick leave. I think that Clinton passed a bill that said a person cannot be fired due to illness of a family member.
You will need more time than a month with your child.
