He beat Tyson and Holyfield, but Bowe was the one main fight that could've defined his career and made the boxing public respect him more if he had beat Riddick when Bowe was at the top of his game. Do you agree?

No it won't. To go any further into detail is an exercise in futility seeing as how only "Clique" members get singled out for the "Best Answer". I'm convinced of this now, so responding to any "Clique" member's questions stops today.

No way Lennox Lewis should always be remembered as a fighter that ducked no one. The main thing that would tarnish his legacy is that his two defeats were basically one punch kos against fighters he should have beaten easily. He did come back to beat both fighters but should have never had lost to either especially Rahman. Had his defeats come against fighters like Holyfield or even Vitali Kliksko it wouldent have been so bad. But im sure Lewis would have beaten Bowe if they had fought, and i imagine Bowe knew Lewis had the beating of him and thats why the fight never took place.

I will not put you through the agony of reading the same answer over and over again. I need to put a fresh spin on it. Instead of telling you, I'll let you see it for yourself. This is their 1988 Gold Medal fight from Seoul South Korea. It's a really good fight, would be better as pros though. Riddick is in the white shorts (like in the pros) Lewis is in the red shorts like in the pros).

Then turning pro and beating the champion Evander Holyfield for his WBA/WBC/IBF titles, Bowe and Lewis have this confrontation just afterward. Bowe can clearly be heard threatening Lewis and PROMISING a match. Even saying "If it doesn't happen I owe you one." I suppose he owes Lennox.

Lastly, here is Holyfield's whole take on it just before his original fight with Lewis.

Sorry, he did throw the belt in the trash can saying "If Lennox wants the belt, he can come get the belt." So now you can see who the tarnished one is with your very own eyes instead of relying on strangers' opinions. AND buy the way, Riddick Bowe did fight many very good fighters.

What happened in the amateurs really wouldnt have affected the outcome of this fight. You have to base your opinion on the two fighters and their styles, their maturity and how they would have fought each other. Lennox always came to fight in shape and even when Riddick didnt he was dangerous. They were both about the same size but Lennox was a much better puncher. lennox went to war plenty of times and usually prevailed (only uneducated observers think he didnt). Ask Ray Mercer, Tommy Morrison, Hasim Rahman, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Shannon Briggs, Michael Grant, Klitschko, etc etc if lennox could punch. Mike Tyson said it best " I would never have beaten Lennox". Neither would Riddick.

Lewis beat Bowe in the 1988 Olympics to win the Gold Medal.
It was Bowe that ducked Lewis. Remember when Bowe threw one of the championship belts in the garbage can after he took the belts from Holyfield? One reason, even though Bowe wouldn't admit it, is because that particular oragnization's belt that he canned demanded that he fight a mandatory defense against Lewis.

well, as other people were saying, lewis already beat bowe in the amateurs and bowe threw one of his titles in the trash so he wouldn't have to fight lewis, its really bowes legacy that is tarnished. i think bowe is overrated, his two best wins are over holyfield, one where holyfield was in his prime, and another where holyfield was suffering from a heart problem i think. seriously, who else has bowe beat? the holyfield fights are his only claim to fame.

no not at all .during the time that lennox was winning fights riddick had personal problems, even before it hit the news. lennox has beaten the beat of his time and i must say there were not any chumps! i like bowe but he would have lost also. lennox has done what he had to do to become the next member into the hall.

Are you serious? Bowe threw his belt in the trash literally so he wouldn't have to fight Lewis. Lewis offered to fight him winner take the whole purse. Bowe was afraid to get in the ring with Lewis. After all Lewis did beat him in the Olympics.

No, Lewis had already beat Bowe. Bowe wouldn't fight Lewis after Lewis fought and defended title in South Africa. Lewis was a better fighter.

Lennox Lewis's legacy was tarnished after the way he reacted after Vitali Klitscho man handled him for six rounds. To get almost defeated and then talk trash followed by retiring without giving a rematch. I would have to agree that Lewis would have beaten Bowe though. He is the better boxer.

It would have defined his career if bowe was willing to face him. bowe ducked lewis and even trash the WBC belt when the WBC mandated him to defend against lewis. Bowe is just to scared of lewis and its a shame, it would have been a great boxing match.
