been there when i was in high school i had this guy friend that i always liked but i would be the one that would hook him with with other girls and he ended up having two kids. well him and that girl didnt work out and one day i was at his house for a party and we ended up dating and i thought i was the best thing, but he jumped into the relationship like we would never have problems. and now i am currently with this guy who was married and told me that he never will fall in love again. and for me love is a very powerful word and you should never use it until you mean it. so give him time he could change, maybe he is looking for someone to respect him and take care of him ( someone to love him). but dont jump into with the "love" thing that might scare him away, just work on what you have and go on from there. hopefully it will work out for you.

I think that u should give him some time dont expect him to fall in love with u right from the start....hang out with him and be really good friends and if its meant to be then things will go further then that..if not at least you'll always have him as a really good friend...Eventually he'll move on from the past...

I don't think you should ever give up on love as everybody gets hurt at some point, if he does give up on love he will miss out on a lot as everybody is different. You got to ask yourself do you want to upset your friendship or see how things go as boyfriend and girlfriend, talk to him tell him how you feel about him if you was to be a couple take things slow. But be sure its what you want because you could lose a good friend if it was to go wrong.
hope this helps good luck

Just continue to be his casual friend and stop having your friends ask him personal questions. He is just using the story about the other girl as an excuse. Believe me when he sees a gal he truly "fancies" he will completely forget that other girl.

Waste of time! Let him live in the past.
It's difficult starting a new relationship with someone who has so much baggage.

Be his friend. Be available for him to get to know you and maybe nature will take its course. You should not force the situation. I know you want to further the friendship, but obviously he isn't ready. If he knows your interest, but he isn't ready you have to make a choice. WAIT or MOVE ON.
Don't pressure him... just make your decision

Tell him that you like him. That he shouldn't give up on love. And he should open up his heart again for new love.

hard one, you have to build up his trust in you , go slowly and see how things go. most people say that coming off a bad relationship and generally in time work things out with new people, good luck

Sounds like his confidence and self belive are low - you need to boost it some how - if you love him then you should try and get with him. Tell him how you feel and tell him you will take it as slow as he wants.
