For many Biblical events there is no archeological, extra-biblical historical or scientific backing to support the acceptance of the events as factual. For instance the account of Moses and the exodus from Egypt has no support from Egyptian sources. While the location of Jericho has been identified there is nothing that would indicate that great walls were collapsed. Moreover having the sun stand still in the sky, a six day creation, and a global flood are all scientifically untenable.

In light of this, what are your criteria for accepting the Bible as factual while rejecting the texts of ancient Greece, Egypt, or Babylon?

Their criteria is a family tradition that has been handed down for generations in many cases. They are told what to believe in from a very young age in many cases. They are dragged to church by overbearing parents where they are brainwashed by a pastor.

You better go back and check your facts. Many cultures support the history of the global flood. NASA uses the theory of the sun standing still in the sky for one hour when timing launch and landing windows for the shuttle.

Archeology in recent years has uncovered evidence to support that Simon Peter was a fisherman, that Pilate did serve as the Roman governor in Israel, that romans did crusify through the hands and feet;not the wrists and a few other significant little details.

All that aside, it's called faith. If I had to have scientific proof to believe the Bible then, it would be proof not faith.

Think of it like this. If you were/are married you could hire a camera crew to follow your spouse around 24/7 taking pictures to prove your spouse is not cheating. Or you could just assume on faith that your spouse is not cheating. Which is going to make the more trusting loving marriage?

All the events historical have not yet been proven by archaological discovery. But alot has. Your argument is an old one, I guess seeing is believing, right?
I suppose you haven't heard that a chariot wheel made of gold was found in the middle of the bottom of the sea where the exodus took place? Even without it, even in the absence of "other" accounts, spiritual things are understood spiritually. We know these things happened.
Creation and miracles... no problem for an Almighty God.
Incidentally, there is evidence of a layer of the Earth which many scientists say could only have come from a global flood...it's over all the continents.

It is perfectly fine for you to not believe the Bible to be true. I believe it's true. The issue is that we are both looking at a set of facts and due to our prejudices we are making decisions, I land on one side and you on the other. We both have an issue. Due to the fact that I believe the Bible is true it would be near impossible to change my mind. Due to the fact that you think it is not true, it would be near impossible to change you mind. Neither of us are objective- in fact it can be argued there is no such thing. We can both be shown a fact and for you it is evidence that the bible is false- for me- true.
I could answer all of your queries about the bible and in fact there are answers. At one point in time- about 40 years ago your issues were valid- but not anymore. There is an ever increasing amount of evidence supporting Christianity. Check out Josephus' writings on Jesus. There is so much archaelogical evidence supporting the N.T. that it's crazy. The crazier thing is that some of the ancient cities that are discussed in the New Testament haven't even been excavated yet b/c there's so much excavation to do.
If you want to disprove Christianity and the Bible, you will have to do it on grounds other than historical fact.

There is hard facts that point to the truth that the Bible is correct, like humans and dinosaurs living together (there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock) plus a number of man made artifacts in rock and coal seams (how could they get there except for a world flood).

On the spiritual side, God promised to give people His Holy Spirit and power. Many people have been and are Spirit baptized with gifts and power. They talk in unlearned tongues, heal people and other signs that say God is real.

I don't know who's feeding you that twisted info but there is no single document on this planet with more factual and verifiable history than the Bible
