What is it like being born in a religion such as Judaism,, Christianity or Islam?

These Middle Eaastern religions create so much ill-will and hatred, but they all talk of peace as if it is their private property. Few people know that between the followers of these brutal manifestations of cruelty, they habeen killing ever more than all other religions put together. Any commen ts?

You have partial facts.

Islam and Christianity, the "daughter" religions of Judaism, have hundreds and thousands of years of war and suppression to their names. The original, Judaism, is peaceful and never made a religious war on those who believe differently.

You have, of course, the Crusades as the prime example.

The reason for the conflict between Israel and the Arabs is that the Arabs, plain and simple, refuse to accept a Jewish state in their midst. They invented this whole idea of a "Palestinian people who deserve a state" just to use as a tool to dismember Israel.

Arab violence against Jews has been going on long before there was an occupation, long before there was a refugee problem--indeed, long before there was a political Zionist movement. Need I present more painful examples? Perhaps even further back, where I hope everyone will agree that the Zionist movement did not yet come into being:

As to how to solve the problem, the only way would be for Israel to defeat the Arabs overwhelmingly, and then dictate the terms for peace. Otherwise, the Arabs will never stop trying to destroy Israel.

The problem is that all those born into the religions you mention only know what they know. Most of them are blinded by their religion and have no toleration or understanding of others. There isn't one religion in my opinion that is any worse than another - they all have their fanatics and are all part of the killings.

Religion is not to blame it is the Zealots that claim to be religious leaders that are to blame. It is the fanatics that ruin religion, not the religion itself. Before anyone criticizes a religion they should understand it first. It is en-lighting to study different religions in school so that one can have a better appreciation of them all. Anyone that criticizes religions without knowing them is ignorant. And I bet most people that go to war about religion don't understand either.

Being born into Judaism, I never felt or was taught ill will towards others. I was taught about my people's history of persecution, but never with a tone of 'revenge', but rather that we need to make sure that this never happens again (mostly referring to the Holocaust- which was quite recent when I was a child in the 60's and 70's).

Today- I am a devout Atheist, but no less a member of Jewish heritage. For me, it's my ancestry- not my religion.
