When you think about the differences between work and prison, maybe prison isn't so bad...

IN PRISON.......You spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell.

AT WORK........You get a break for 1 meal and you have to pay for it.

IN PRISON.......You get time off for good behaviour.
AT WORK........You get rewarded for good behaviour with more work.

IN PRISON.......A guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK........You must carry around a security card and unlock and open all the doors yourself.

IN PRISON........You can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK.........You get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON.......You get your own toilet.
AT WORK........You have to share.

IN PRISON.......They allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK........You cannot even speak to your family and friends.

IN PRISON.......All expenses are paid by taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK........You get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from you salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON.......You spend most of your life looking through bars from inside wanting to get out.
AT WORK........You spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

An earlier question ask if you would rather be locked up in a California prison or homeless and hungry. No one picked the California prison.

The answers here sound as if people would choose prison over work. Therefore, I wonder if the answers mean people would rather be homeless and hungry than work.

(Of course, no one would actually volunteer for the horrible, overcrowded California prisons.)

Your comparison is funny. I know from my husband what prison was like. He was a bad boy at 18 and did 4 yrs. It's nothing like the movies and TV shows. P:You do as your told and leave your cell when allowed W: You can go home at the end of the day P:The food is nasty and small portions W: You can eat food you enjoy eating P: You can get time added for bad behavior W: You can find a job with less hassle P: The guards are not always nice people, some times you have to watch out for them too W: Your security pass can open the door to the outside and freedom P: You have to buy your TV and the only games I've heard of was card games, your things can be stolen W: More people do this and don't get caught P: You share a toilet and showers with nasty people W: It is enclosed so no one can watch you do your business P: You family and friends don't always come to see you and when they do, they have to go through a lot of red tape to get in to see you, then you are watched the whole time W: They are waitimg for you when you get off of work and leave your job P: It's not a luxury vacation, if you work a job in prison you get paid a very tiny amont of money, plus your family has to give you money for commisary-tooth brushes and paste, combs, socks, shoes, underware, razors, soap, all the common necessities W: You are paid well and have the freedom to go and spend it where ever you like I'm not dogging your joke, just wanted to show you my comparisons to it.

When all is said and done...no one really wants to end up in prison. It's really the worst place to be of the two options.
