Looking for birthday ideas for my 2 year old son. His birthday is in April.

we're doing a spongebob/elmo theme because he loves them both and we also wanted to tie in football some kind of way. I was actually looking for a place to have it or something to do besides a party and use the money we would have spent and put it in a savings 4 him. Thanks though.

Two is a great age. You could go wild with this one. A jungle theme where each child brings their favorite stuffie and/or you give one as a gift instead of a bag of candy. There could be a safari throughout the house where stories are told about different animals they might find. Animal crackers and things like that.

A pirate party. A treasure hunt where X marks the spot.

Bob the Builder...have the kids build something. A craft store will have something they can put together as their gift to take home, again rather than the goodie bag.

An Easter theme is great at that time...discounts on plastic eggs for an egg hunt, baskets and I'm sure bunny ears will be available. Kids could color eggs to take home.

I could go on. I've had three two year old parties. Each year the parties get more fun. It is all in what you as a parent want to put into them. The more creative you are, the more fun the kids will have. It doesn't have to cost a lot either.

Good luck...Happy birthday!

My youngest daughter is 2- she turned 2 last April. She is my little tom-boy so we had a Thomas The Train B-day party. Go to www.birthdayexpress.com They have everything you need for any theme that you want. Even party favors for the little gift bags for the kids. We had her party at our local fitness club-they had it set up with mats for the kids to play on, little bikes, things for kids to climb on, etc. They all LOVED it! Our original plan was to have it at the park but in April it's hard to predict the weather-our plan B was the fitness club...it turned out really great even though it was rainy.

my son will also be 2 in april and we are either doing cars (the movie) or a train theme. those are what he's into right now so it just seems right to do one of those. if you go to birthdayexpress.com they have some good ideas as well. that's where i get my son's birthday items from.

for my daughters 2nd birthday we took her to the zoo, and then before we left we let her pick out anything (but only one) from the gift shop..this year we're taking her to the Lazy 5 Ranch..they have animals like zebras, rhinos, and you can get on a horse drawn carriage and it takes you through the park and you can feed the animals..try finding something like that in your area, or a petting zoo maybe..

Take him to chuck e cheese. He can run and scream to his heart's content and you don't have to worry about clean up.
