I am pregnant with my first child and he's a boy! He's also due in April. My husband has a son from a previous relationship (he's my stepson) and he's 7. His name is TJ. (Tucker Joseph) My husband's name is Nick. Soooo we're thinking of what to name our little boy. So far my ideas are:
Beau (french: handsome)
James (hebrew: supplanter)
Sean (Irish: variant of John)
Steven (Greek: crowned)
Nicholas Jr. (Greek: leader) i wouldn't mind jr. but since he isn't the oldest it might be weird?
appreciate the feedback! my husband says whatever I pick, he likes... what a guy haha so opinions? I guess we need middle names too.
And our last name is Brown

I appreciate the suggestions of other names, but I plan on choosing one from my list so if you could tell me the best from there that would be great

Ok, here's my thoughts on the names. Since your last name is Brown, I wouldn't choose James.
Beau Brown sounds a bit blah (sorry!) and Sean is nice but when I was choosing names for my son, a couple months ago, I read that the first name should have a different amount of syllables than the last name. So Beau Brown or Sean Brown both have one syllable per name which makes the names not really flow right. The first name should have 2 syllables, at least, if the last name has one. I know this seems silly, but it makes the name flow off the tongue better.
I like Steven Brown and Nicholas Brown. I know other kids that were the second boy and were named after the father or were nicknamed Junior, so I don't think that's too big of a deal. I know your husband's other son is only 7, but ask for his input on the name Nicholas Jr. and see what he thinks, that way you should be able to find out if it isn't something he would be ok with.
I think when you are thinking about middle names that you should look into maybe grandparents names or other family members that you could pass down. That way you don't have to drive yourself even more crazy trying to think of a middle name/names. We gave our son 2 middle names for 2 of his grandfathers. So he can choose to use them both or just one when he's older.
Congratulations on your baby, being a mom is sooo wonderful!!

First off, don't go with James, because of the late singer James Brown. I was once married with the last name Brown and had 3 sons. I tried to pick odd names so that there wouldn't be others in their class with the same exact name. For example, I have a 9 year old named Noah Brown and there's another boy in school named Noah Brown. It's very confusing since we live in a small town. Plus, you want to make sure that when he's all grown up, that when someone wants to find him in the phone book that they don't have to call 5 other men with the same name before finally getting your son on the phone.
I do like the names you've got listed, but I'm afraid of him having too many Joseph Browns to get confused with.
I have Bailey Douglas Brown, Noah Tillman Brown, and Ethan Scott Brown. I also have a son with my new husband and his name is Matthew Nash Wilkerson. He goes by Nash and everyone seems to love his name.
Just some things to think about ~ since you're a Brown.
Good luck!

I like all the names you've picked. I'm having a son in March and we are going to name him James. But I think I'd stay away from that one if your last name is Brown. Remember the movie Office Space, all the grief that the one guy got for having the name Michael Bolton? Could be the same for a James Brown ;-)
I might also stay away from Nicolas, a great name but you don't want the oldest son to feel slighted by being the first and not the namesake.. he may not dig that when he gets older.
You have a lot of different origins, do you or your husband have a tie to any origin?
Out of your list, I'd go with Sean or Steven.
Congratulations on your baby boy!

I like all the names you picked! I agree that naming him Nicholas might be a little weird and also cause some resentment between brothers later on. Why not pick Nicholas as a middle name James Nicholas is very nice, Steven Nicholas too! Lucky you to have a husband that's so agreeable! Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be perfect!
Congrats & Good Luck!

A junior does not have to be first, many juniors are actually the baby. It often takes time to take the spouse into junior. My son is a second (II).
I like Steven but I prefer the spelling - Stephen. How about Stephen Thomas or Stephen Nicholas. I like it Stephen Nicholas Brown. Manly & I like it too! haha! too much TV for me.
Beau will get him teased for sure.
