Because cops run on a good ole boy system. I have little respect for cops. The only cop I like is a cop who directs traffic at rush hour. Respect is earned not given. They chose their profession. I don't owe them anything. There are some good cops, but there are who lotta bad ones and many who abuse their power and have an attitude.

When I needed the cops help they were not there and when they did they did not help me. I further lost even more respect for them. Good luck to you. Of course they are going to have each others back and leave you out to dry. That is how cops do. Oh yeah and they shoot a lot of innocent people in the back.

usually this is a mix in perception. Sounds pretty injust. I assume you did something to get a cops attention, now you are trying to refocus attention on the police because you are feeling angry about it? Police generally don't misreat people just because....honestly look at your actions.......i'm sure you arnt just some pedistrian victim that the police were choosing to pick on. If you can't honestly look at your part, than your perception will be skewd and you will forever feel injust around athourity. Perhaps you are suffering from ODD. Opisitional Defience Disorder?

All good intentions I have, this is not to make you feel more injust.

So I will also add....
IF YOU ARE just some rare victim of police cockyness.....the best response is ALWAYS to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.......and calmy as for them to write down their supervisors name, and their badge number. It is aginst the law for them to deny you of this information when asked. Than report them and follow up. If they are jerky cops, you arnt the first person they mistreated, and your report of them could make or break their carrear.

It seems as if a percentage of the people who responded to this post have the exact same mentality of the author. Yes, I chose my profession as a law enforcement officer. There are people out there, the vast majority, who could not do what I do for a living. How many times have you been shot at? How many times have you had to step in at the scene of a rape or domestic violence incident to get somebody some help. How many times have you had to hold somebody's hand who was trapped in a car dying? How many times have you had to go into a house where there IS a guy with a gun who just killed his wife/child and it's unknown if he's dead or not but we have to get to the victim's to get them med aid if possible?

Don't give me this crap that we are power hungry peeps with badges. 99% of us are just like you, we just enforce the laws that YOU choose to break. Ya, we may have to step up from time to time to put punks in check. Its the nature of the beast. Don't talk smack about me and my brother's until you have one ounce of courage to walk in my shoes and not run when the crap hits the fan!
