Knowing how important the procedure is, I cannot again tolerate drinking ALL that liquid...it will prevent me from having this important test again....I did not mind the procedure, as you hardly know what is going on as you are put out a little and frankly, don't care...help, I need something that will clean out the system that is not barbaric

I just had one yesterday and I cannot drink large amounts of liquid either. I let my doctor know that and they gave me a script for pills to be taken the day before. It was not nearly as difficult as the old jug of gunk. The whole process was surprisingly easy. The worst was going hungry.

there has been great improvement in the things you have to do before the actual procedure. some doctors give you very little to drink and you only take a couple of pills beforehand. ask around to see which doctors do what. my mom was told to drink as much of the liquid as she could, but that she didn't have to drink it all.

At my work we tell patients to buy Magnesium Citrate (which is gross, I know) and take 2 Colace Tablets the day before the procedure. Drink clear liquids the whole day before. They can also give you a RX for pills to take that will clean you out. Most people say that's easier for them.
