I put a chicken breast in baggy and added some italian dressing for marinade. I plan on cooking it tonight when I get home. It will be in the dressing for 24 hours. Will this ruin it?

No not at all. You can even freeze it while it is still in the marinade too. The longer it sets the better it is, but since you will be waiting 24 hours, let it sit in the fridge. If it was only going to get a few hours then leave it out. The meat will soak up more marinade at a faster pace at room temp. Good Luck..

24 Hour Chicken Marinade

No, it won't ruin it, though the best marinade time for chicken is 6-8 hours. The acid (vinegar) in the Italian dressing will soften the outer layer of the chicken.

Beef marinades well at 24 hours, and the best long-term solution is to use an injector to marinade your chicken from the inside out.

No it won't be ruined, it will be very tasty. Try cooking it in a aluminum foil pouch with some veggies so they have the marinade taste too and it makes for an easy clean up to boot.

Minimum marinating is overnight, so it will be absolutely delicious after 24 hours. Enjoy. (now you've made me hungry!) :)

No, it is cross-contamination. You cant mix two different raw meats together as the different bacterias mix together and may contaminate the food which leads to food poisioning which could potentially be fatal

Should be excellent in a grill pan or on the grill. Also, the cookout calculator at charcoalbob.com has instructions for how to grill chicken breast to perfection, should you need them.

I just did the same thing with my chicken.
I grilled it outside, OMG was it ever tastey.
I highly recommend it.
And it was sooo tender.

The longer it marinates the more tender, juicy, and flavorful it will be. It will not be ruined at all.
