Well if you want diversity, Los Angeles is probably the best. Southern California is one of the best places to live in the world, yes the world, because of the variety of stuff to do and the opportunities. Don't go anywhere north of Santa Barbara because, really, it's just boring and there's not that much stuff to do or opportunities(execpt San Fran). I would recommend going to the San Deigo area and become financially stable to explore other areas. And you might not even want to move from there because San Deigo is a very fun, safe, and successful place to live and grow.

In any nice city (ie, not Sacramento, Fresno or Bakersfield) rents are going to be high. Diversity-wise, LA crushes the rest of the state, being either the most or 2nd most deverse city in the world. (Astoria, Queens, NY may be number 1) San Diego has the greatest weather in the world, while LA gets too hot. San Fran is interesting, but people have this attitude that gets annoying, plus its always windy and fairly chilly. San Jo is pretty dull, but nice in a suburban way. I say LA is the place for you.

That's an extremely hard question to answer. With people not knowing what your qualified to do or what your interests are, naming a city to live in is near impossible. I personally love San Diego. It has a great communications job out look. There is a ton to do recreationally as well. You will just need to sit down and do your research.

California is as big as Japan. Are you looking for a city? The beach? The mountains? You'll need to be more specific. One thing to know is that CA is EXPENSIVE.
