I told her how much I like her, and she says she just wants to be friends. We have been friends for a long time, but she wants our friendship to grow to good friends. I think she liked me a while back but has become cold to the idea lately. What can I do to stir up the heart of a lady subtely to liking me again?

Can't do it.
The key word is "want".
If she "wants" to be with you, she'll show you in different ways to attract you (clothes tighter, touching you, etc.)
If she "feels obligated" to be with you, the relationship fails in less than 2 months.
Good luck!

It will be hard to do. Just disappear if possible. No phone call, no return calls , avoid seeing her. Do not frequent the places you would go with her. If she has any romantic feelings for you they will eventually surface. Later on if she comes around, you can tell her that you felt you were keeping her from having a boyfriend. If she comes around and you are going with her, you told the truth, if she ends up with someone else you were right again. In this situation the women has all the power because they have many guys hitting on them. There is no other way to even the playing field. Women will hate this response like many of my other ones. That doesn't mean I am wrong, it means I am correct. Did you ever listen to the words (I think) "Wrapped around my finger" old song by the "Police"

It can't be done. You are in the realm of friendship. Once you enter this you can only leave as either not as good of a friend, or not friends at all. The chances that she will be willing to sacrifice her friendship with you for a relationship is
Slim to none and I think I saw Slim leaving when I clicked on this link. So either accept her friendship and drop the idea of hooking up or deny her friendship alltogether and maybe she will get the hint that you want her or nothing at all.

It's time we as guys stood up against this. The friend barrier needs to be squashed!

I personally am in love with my best friend and have tryed on numerous occasions. She doesn't want anything to do with me romanticly because apparently she doesn't want to cause me pain. But as much as I love her the wall that she put up has hurt alot.... Save yourself a little heartache and just keep looking for a different one.

Or get a GF and make her jealous.

there's not a whole lot you can do to win in that situation though so good luck and best regards.

All you can really do is tell her, which you did - if you really can be happy being her friend, then just be there for her. Don't pursue her anymore. In time, she'll either change her mind, or you'll continue being friends. that's it.
