I don't think you should "spray" the cat with any insecticide - it is not good for the cat's lungs nor yours either. The topical treatments such as Advantage or Frontline are a much safer way to go and are very effective.

If you are in the "deep-freeze" areas of the US the fleas will not be too active now and if they are in the house they will be. I would do it soon to prevent that from happening.

I think the products that you can put on once a month is a better option than a spray. The fleas die within 24 hours. It be a little more pleasant for your feline friend also. If your cat is an indoor you would not have to do it to many months and the problem will be gone I have 3 indoor treated them 3 months and have no problem now hope this helps best of luck

You're supposed to do it once a month to protect your cat from any flea-carried diseases, and to protect your home from getting infested with fleas (they will infest your carpet and are really hard to get rid of). There are products like Revolution, Advantage, etc. Your vet will probably recommend some but it's cheaper to buy them at Walmart or something than through the vet.

Ugh...those solutions are insane! First, have you ever taken the cat to a vet? Is he neutered? There are medical situations that ought to reason this. have you ever talked to the neighbor? it type of feels to me it should be extra truthful to call animal administration and get the stray taken away than have your cat pay the cost if it truly is in reality via neighbor cat spraying. Why no longer tell the neighbor to shop her cat interior or you're having it picked up? ultimately, and maximum major of all, it is totally perplexing to rehome cats. you ought to reveal human beings intently, rather in case you take advantage of an section like Craigslist, and get a minimum of a vet reference and provide the cat to its living house. in the different case, you're handing it off to a stranger, which spells undesirable information for the kitty. They make tremendous bait for dogfighting earrings and craigslist is the position maximum of those human beings bypass and then deliver grandma to get the cat. you actually favor to paintings extra durable on a answer to shop him, because it is in all likelihood his merely probability. also, make constructive this did not commence precise once you replaced muddle and/or muddle field area. in reality, try including a sparkling field or 2 and examine out diverse litters. it could be so effortless as that. And if no longer, you owe your cat a vet visit. Edit: for persons suggesting humane societies, this would often times paintings yet in maximum factors of the country they're crammed to overflowing and would't even settle for kittens. that is why cats are being euthanized at list costs - no one needs human being cats.

Just before they get fleas is the best time...
Call a local vet and find out when flea season starts in your area - it's different everywhere depending on climate.
