Thanks for taking the time to share your observations with us.
I would really like to read some observations from the other side -
the other side of the Rio Grande. What is the employment situation like in Mexico? The pay? Are there young men there who choose to sleep late? What is it like to run a small business there?
p.s. Forgive me Mando - I never saw one, and I want to read it from the people who work - not the ones who do not.

I agree there are lazy people here and everywhere else. I don't know what part of the country you live in but here you could not afford rent for 7 dollars an hour....not even 14 an hour.....let alone utilities and any sort of transportation back and forth to work. Forget car or health insurance, basic phone or food. I've lived in numerous states and the line at the welfare office isn't whites, blacks or asians.........yes, there are kids still at home way beyond the time they should be out on their own......but how would Mexicans do it if they weren't bunking 15 to 20 in a small unit and pooling their resources? That "cultural" thing is against housing codes here, even though they don't seem to enforce it. When I was growing up we could leave home and support ourselves on minimum wage. Now you can barely afford a date.......not to mention many of those jobs aren't full time positions either.
Sometimes jobs go unfilled that are in the paper because there's more of a problem than just low pay. Some places just keep posted to collect applications, with no job openings or any real intent of hiring anyone. Others....there are unfair labor practices or other things that make it a not good place to work, but it's not as easy as some beleive for an individual to fight it or have the money to fight it. We had a restaurant in town that always had waitress jobs. That's because the boss always expected other favors from the girls. If you catch my drift. He opened and closed under new names so many times.......but the reputation was there. I could go back there to this day and the same add will be running that was running 20 years ago. There's adds in this paper that have been there for over 2 years........they aren't hiring.......just collecting apps. The only ones you pay any attention to are new ones.
That's why the great unemployment rate is far from accurate. There's alot of Americans looking for work. The influx of illegals have made it worse. So laziness isn't the only reason.

congratulations on your small business.i too am a small business owner, and have seen some of the very same things you have mentioned, and you're right in the fact that most kids today lack drive or initiative for manual labor work. This being said they should all be in college right? Nope. How about a professional trade school? Nope. i see your point, but one thing needs to be understood here as well, if we take the time to educate these kids and teach the skills they need to succeed at or in just say a skilled manual labor position, shouldn't the pay be commensurate with skill levels. If i were to hire a journeyman electrician for example, you think he would settle for $15.00 an hour?
He11 no. By the way, don't delete your account, stay on, i'd like to ask you some questions, and i'm sure you have plenty to ask yourself. Lets explore every available avenue to us as small business owners shall we? im sure our opinions will differ vastly, but thats where common ground is found. Agreed?

You are right, your English is poor. At least you have tried to learn English. Most of the illegal aliens I have seen don't even try.
If you love this country, why don't you obey the law? I'm sorry but you are a criminal because you are here illegally. Would you like someone to come into your house and start taking things that are yours? I doubt it. That's what the illegal alien criminals are doing. They are sponging off the taxpayer and I am pissed about it.
Do you have children that are citizens because they were born here? If so, you are sponging off the system. In those 11 years that you have been here, have you paid taxes?
I don't know what type of friends you have but they are not the average American!
All illegal aliens should not be here and I am angry that they are stealing from ME.

Dennis Prager is a neocon imperialist. He want's Americans to embrace belligerent empire (though he'll never call it that) even though it is not in their self interest. I sort of agree with your characterization of some of the women here but that by no means describes all American women. I'm not sure how embracing shame creates magic though. It seems like it would just create a submissive citizen that gets run over by the state. You can have self esteem and be individualistic without being arrogant or obnoxious.

Its good you are American like me,I worked hard all my life, grew up poor and cleaned rooms and washed dishes,I worked alongside many others, some are good and some are not,it does not matter what race we are,its what difference we make in the world. Know i am middle class, and I think the reason people are upset with mexicans is because some disrespect our flag.Americans have helped and gave ,we cant take breaking the law of our country, you must understand that we have lost family to war for our freedoms? Why would we give it up to those who demand we give them our country? Please watch this video and you will understand why Americans cant take care of the whole world. They must try to help themselves, just like we had to work and servive.I dont know where you live but Americas census report claims most illegal immigrants are on welfare. And its our tax dollars paying for that.

I know what exactly your saying and as a Proud American I'm offended by it. Bottom line your wrong. And if there is plenty of jobs Americans won't take its probably because there is too many "legal" and illegals working there. I myself will not work with foreigners from south America including Mexicans. They are very cliquish and act dumb when someone speaks to them in English. They also have selective understanding if its going to benefit them. It really does sound like your anti-American.

Lazy people do not live in any particular country.I have seen then in country's all over the world. There are just as many lazy people in Mexico or France or Germany.it is work ethic that is instilled in the people by either their parents or their own personal desire to succeed. Not all Americans under 40 are lazy,That's simply not true.I know many hard working career motivated people in their 20s.
Don't generalize its never the correct thing to do.Just as you are relying on your personal experience so am I and where I live in Arizona I see a large number of hard working young Americans.I too love this nation and I would gladly lay down my life for it.Just remember a lot of young people in our military already have died for this great nation.

Every country has lazy people. I think the problem with the United States is the government encourages laziness with their social programs. If you took away the free handouts, the people taking them would work. It's a simple fact if you offer free handouts to 100 people, 100 people are going to show up for them. If you increase the number of handouts to 100,000, then all of a suddent, 100,000 people are going to show up for them. Even though the 99,900 extra people were doing something to generate income before the free handouts.
Most people that are lazy view themselves as victims and enjoy nothing more than complaining about how bad they have it. This attitude feeds itself and it's a vicious cycle.

First off..your english is actually pretty good considering how hard of a language it is to learn
it annoys me to. in the area where i live, about half of the families have a TON of money, and their kids are used to getting everything they want, regardless of the cost, with no effort. it drives me insane, but i think the most we can do is work ourselves, and if our kids ever come to us for support, when they aren't even trying to find a job, make them work first.
