By default all DVD players can play both PAL and NTSC discs - PAL and NTSC are output modes selectable from the player's setup menu. You can buy a region-free player from virtually anywhere these days.

It might also be worth buying one that can playback DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and VCDs depending whether you burn DVDs/VCDs on your PC.

Hope that helps.

Just about any DVD player available today should be region free, and capable of playing NTSC and PAL DVDs.

You'd be very unlucky to find one that couldn't!

I bought a cheap DVD player for my bedroom and it plays all DVDs etc so what I'm saying is just get a cheap DVD player because its more likely to play any type of DVD. The DVD player that i have got down stairs cost a lot of money which don't play all DVDs.

Hope this helps

A blu-ray disk will also fit in a 5-1/4" floppy drive. And a VHS tape will sort of fit sideways into an 8-track player.
