We noticed it a few days ago on the side of his neck. It didn't seem to cause him any pain and there was no evident wound. It came on very suddenly and is getting quite large. His demeanor has changed alot and he doesn't want to eat. He doesn't seem to be in pain from it, but it came on so suddenly I was wondering if anyone knew what may cause it?

it might be an ingrown hair or a cyst. but i would take it to the vet and get it checked out, just to be on the safe side. if your dog doesn't want to eat that`s a bad sign because he/she will get dehydrated real fast. good luck

Well I am not the best person to answer this but my dog had the same thing happen to her. what I think you need to do is go to the vet and make sure its nothin to serious. In my dogs case it was canser but that may not be for yours. You can also try and see if maybe wet dog food will help him eat. You can never really tell if the dog is in pain but if hes not eating then thats not good, If I were you I would take him to the vet hope that this can help sorry if it doesnt.

You need to take your dog to a vet as fast as possible. If it is growing that fast it could be very serious. I would call the vet asap, and explain the situation, tell them you need to be seen today. That the lump was not there 4 days ago, and that it is getting bigger by the day. They should see you as an emergency appointment.

The only way to diagnosis this lump is by taking him to the vet and ASAP. It could be something simple as a fatty tumor, but I have never seen such on the neck. Unfortunately it can also be a tumor that is malignant(cancer). I surely hope not. Time is in the essence so please call your vet today. I hope it is nothing serious!!!! Good luck.

it really depends on the dogs age. most dogs get lumps the more they age, but if youve noticed a change in his behavior and eating its probley something more serious. the vet will be able to tell right away.

Once my dog had this and we took him into the vet and she said that it was just a little fat, but it didn't affect anything he did. You might want to go to the vet and have a little blood drawn to see if there is anything the vet can do to help you out!!!!
Good Luck!!!

take it to the vets now. our rabbit stopped eating and when we talked to the vets they found out it had a tumor. unfortunatley the lump was hidden too much by the fur so we did not notice it. please take your dog to the vets even if it is just to get the dog checked up.
do it just in case its worth it.

Better get him to the vet ASAP! You don't know if it is cancer or not but it doesn't matter your dog needs to have medical treat immediately investigate that lump and see what it is.

It could be a numbet of things ranging from a bite to a fatty tumor to something worse. Let the vet have a look please.
