Please don't add water. Add coolant. You obviously have a leak. If you don't see it, check your exhaust. White smoke? Water vapor. Intake gasket perhaps, or head gasket allowing water into the engine.
No white smoke? Check for a leaking freeze plug. Don't forget the one on the back of the engine that is hard to see.
Park on a large piece of cardboard overnight. Look for the drips in the morning. That's the leak, now figure out where it's coming from and fix it.

i own a repair shop, and you have the 4.3 engine in that one ,and it probably has a bad head gasket on it,,they blow in a water jacket and that's where you coolant is going to,i own one of these, and already been through it, mine went at 80 thousand miles on it,but you can take it and have a pressure check done on it to be sure, but unless you have something else leaking and you can for sure rule this out ,id say that's where its going to that's about the point mine was at when i replaced it also, but those are good engines, the factory gaskets just didn't hold up very well on the, good luck i hope this help,s.,,PS be sure and check for any other leaks though before you do anything.

check the hoses into and out of the radiator for leaks. Be sure to add antifreeze as well as water. Short term fixes also include black pepper or raw egg, but a mechanic is preferred to rectify the leak.

check your radiator for leaks, and check for faulty water hoses, as well as your water pump, and last but not least check your freeze plugs,as far as a lil water coming out of pump, you won't see how mush is leaking while you are driving

examine what hsueh010 says, and likewise examine your oil. even if it truly is overfull or smells like gas, you've an inner leak contained in the gasoline injectors, lines, regulator or what G M calls a nut kit.
