My cat's names are Sammy and Tedd. Well, his real name is Sampson, but Sammy sounds better... and we call Tedd, Teddy Bear, n i just think thats sooo sweet! We named them this as Sampson is a name of a parish in \guernsey, where we live and Ted was my grandads name who passed away just before my cats were born. I also have a female cat called Erin, after Port Erin in the Isle of Man. So, what im trying to say is name your cat after something special, or somrting that means something to you. Don't just give him a random name, cuz thats stupid!
Hope i helped!

You could wait until you have him and then name him. Wait to see what his habits are. Something might come to you. For example, if he acts like he rules the place right away, you could call him Prince (or something like that - just an example). My friend named her hyper cat Spaz. I'm sure you get what I am saying. You don't have to have him named ahead of time. You should give him a name that suits him. Enjoy your new kittie!

Sounds like mine looks; I named him KC; ....
K for kitty....C for cat; his brother is named Malenco.
The best thing to do is not to name him for a least a week after you get him that way you will pick-up on his personality and give him a more appropriate name. I have a black long haired cat that has a mane like a male lion; she is called prissy short for Princess and she won't get on the couch without a pillow to lay down on. She acts a tho she owns the entire house and we are here to serve her.

Russian names usually work for me. Both my cats have russian names people love. And It's always fun explaining what the names mean. Do some research, it's fun. Unless you just want a simple cute name. Judging from your description "mitten" seems cute.

I just got a new cat too! Know what I did for a name? I posted a pic of him on my Yahoo 360 and asked everyone to send me a name...I made it like a contest..It was fun for everyone and my cat now has the name Puffers!

I would wait to see what your kitty's personality is first. When I got my kitty he named himself. My Friend and I were throwing names out there and he just looked at me strange. After about 5 min I said "Cupid" and he meowed at me and laid down belly up.
